Hey guys, I'm still new to Nanoblock, started off by getting a black grand piano from Kinokuniya KLCC, then Yamato when I visited Hong Kong last year.
I would like to know where do you guys usually buy the Nanoblock? Interested on buying advanced sets to build after I completed the Yamato.

Recently I just bought the Schoss Neuschwanstein DX set from Rakuten Japan. I used Tenso.com for international shipping though, because the seller at Rakuten only do domestic shipping.

Tenso used EMS service, the delivery fees costs around 4480JPY (~RM145). Tenso charged the handling and shipping fees altogether.

So, in total, the value of the whole thing is around RM560 (item + shipping fees), which I believe should be taxable by the customs.
But it went through without any problem, I think it's probably because the value is just slightly above the RM500 mark, or probably they don't include the shipping fees in the value of the goods.

If I'm not mistaken, toys/hobby goods are only taxable when the value is over RM500. Not sure if this RM500 includes the shipping fees or not.
And btw, EMS service is pretty fast, it took just 2 working days for my case, from collection of item in Japan to releasing of item from customs in Malaysia.

Just a head's up to those interested in nanoblocks, drool.gif there is a guy called Chris Tan who has a wonderful display of some of his nanoblock designs at Kinokuniya KL. Very creative! He even has some Star Wars figures as well.

The display is on this month from 5th-31st but it is up already. Interesting chap with his own fB and blog about his creations and how to design stuff. rclxms.gif

If you are into nano designs then you really ought to take a look at this display. I am envious of his nano gauge Shinkansen trains although they weren't on display.

I recommend buying from Japanese online stores, it's usually cheaper than buying in Malaysia. But better compare the price between different sites first, usually the price differs quite a lot between different sites.
I only bought from Rakuten and eBay before. You can look at other websites like Plamoya, Amiami, Nanoblockfan etc. also.

You need to consider the shipping costs also when buying online. I bought a few times from Rakuten, because sometimes they'll have 50% off shipping fees or free shipping when you spent more than certain amount buying stuffs from their website.

If you don't mind spending more to save the hassle of online shopping, you can of course buy in Malaysia. For KL, you can find nanoblock at Kinokuniya KLCC, Jigsaw Puzzle World in Mid Valley, Toys r Us stores (I found that not all stores selling nanoblock though) etc. That's pretty much what I know.

Oh, and another thing, since the nanoblock thread at Lowyat forum is a bit quiet, you can join the FB groups below also for more info:

Hi all,

Just wondering if there is any Nanoblock collectors from LYN forum?

If there's any, let's share our collection and find out more about nanoblocks in this post! Especially those who can list out places where you can get cheap nanoblocks!

Introduction

The smallest part is a mere 4x4mm!

nanoblock is an extremely small building block that is just a half the size of Kawada standard diablock (volume ratio 1/8).
Double-ridged backing system
for perfect fit!

Despite its micro-size, nanoblock is just as precise as diablock. nanoblock can be as stimulating and entertaining a hobby for adults as they are for children.
What smaller blocks can do

Smaller parts make it possible to create more detailed and even smaller projects than what can be created with standard diablock.
My collection to date:

Limited Edition Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall, Taiwan - bought from Taiwan
[attachmentid=3331037]

Kaminarimon, Japan - bought from Taiwan
[attachmentid=3331038]

Torre de Pisa, Italy - bought from Taiwan

Electric Guitar
Please do start posting now guys!
LIST OF NANOBLOCKS COLLECTOR¬
1. csrulez
2. hocksoo
Let's also start building a list where you can get these collectibles according to region! biggrin.gif

Oooooo. Didn't know there's a thread dedicated to Nanoblock lovers, here's mine tongue.gif. I am aware that they released new Pokemon nanoblocks, particularly the Charizard one. I didn't buy that though, just kept it to the original 5 classics.
