My unifi already turboed to 500mbps.

Based on TM Speed Test from my pc via wifi connection ... i am only getting around 75/65 DL/UL. My wifi adapter is capable of 300mbps.

Any idea what is wrong? My wifi is running on 2.4GHz channel. Router is DIR-850L. Channels are set to AUTO, but currently is connected to channel 10+6. I'm not hoping to hit full speed because I know there is hardware limitations on my side, but not even reaching 100mbps is kinda slow. On my crappy Lenovo I can only managed to get an average of 30mbps-ish download eventhough before turbo upgrade I can get near 50mbps almost every time.

On my mom's Samsung hp, connected via 5ghz AC managed to get around 100mbps download only.

Before upgrade, my unifi package is 50mbps and hitting max speed is not a problem. Should I ask TM?
*
if the issue is about cant get over 100mbps, most possibility is about LAN cable issue. You can try replace a cat6 cable between the BTU and your router.

Ya Taman Utama. 2 weeks ago turboed
*
Same Taman but different fate. My hometown at Phase 6 of Taman Utama. The houses area Sri Lagenda Villa just behind of St. Monica. Wait for years still don't have Unifi. Recently TM is finally came to pull fiber cable and begin to open register but new user only can apply 100mbps @ RM129.

My current house in KK here in Taman Bukit Saujana is facing the problem of speedtest does not meet at least 90% of subscribed speed. My plan is Unifi Turbo 500mbps but TM just provide 300mbps. I was read other post in other forum. Some Unifi user is using D-Link DIR-850L, that router is slower than Asus RT-AC55UHP but which is easily can speed up to more than 500mbps. He post out his screenshot with 536mbps download speed and 110mbps upload speed. Link here

Thats why I am now open report to MCMC to complain about why I only can get 60% of their provided speed.

Visit here for more reference about Router CPU

D-Link DIR-850L - Realtek RTL8197D@ 660 MHz, RAM: 128MB

Asus RT-AC55UHP - Qualcomm Atheros QCA9557@ 720 MHz, RAM: 128MB

However, I was same like you too, was ordered and waiting for my new RT-AC86U. The latest router with Broadcom BCM4906@ 1.8 GHz Dual Cores, comes with RAM 512MB and USB 3.1. This router seems more powerful than RT-AC87U and RT-AC88U. I have to wait and see the speedtest result is still maintaining 300mbps or able to reach 500mbps later.

Eh? Kinda impossible.
Have you disable parental control, URL filter, keyword filter and QOS?
How about ensuring NAT Acceleration and large jumbo frame enabled?
hmm.gif
*
I was noticed that the word "NAT traffic is processed by CPU", the NAT Acceleration is only has two options, Auto/Disabled.
Attached Image

I just to assume that router CPU was not able to power up to the subscribed speed due to Sabah here has higher ping. Hopefully don't get me disappointed after I receive my RT-AC86U.

Then uncle has to mention your NAT Acceleration is not 'activated'.
If NAT Acceleration is working, it will display "CTF (Cut Through Forwarding) is enabled".
Please check the router system log to see what 'feature' is causing NAT acceleration to be disabled.
*
It was default by RT-AC55UHP is showing "NAT traffic is processed by CPU", I cannot change it to "CTF (Cut Through Forwarding) is enabled" unless I have to upgrade to better router such like RT-AC68U.

Strange, I don't see any CTF or FA being enabled in the log.

1) Can you check if Parental Control and QOS are really off?
2) Have you disable and re-enable back (Auto) NAT Acceleration? Sometimes, one needs to turn the option off and on just for it to function properly. Note: reboot is required after clicking apply.
*
actually no need to be stranged for this router because it is not RT-AC68U. I will come back here for feedback after I get my new router.

Running on a ACER Predator 17 gaming laptop with  Killer Wireless-AC 1535 , Gigabit Ethernet.

Got it today after visitng the nearest TMPoint and made a report about missing cover case of the whats-the-name-of-the-box-hanging-on-the-telephone-pole 3 days ago, and vented out my frustration of waiting upgrade while still paying the same monthly bill, in a gentleman way (we Borneons always do things nice and slow) and the customer service lady put me on the waiting list straight away.

Now,

things I haven't done:
1) Restart the BTU and router.
2) get a CAT-6 cable to connect the router, TP-Link Archer C1200 to the BTU.

Download speed on 5Ghz wireless fluctuates between 100Mbps to 300Mpbs, in average.

Update on the test result with Wired connection and Wireless connection.

With cable connection it can achieve maximum speed, while 1/2 of the promised speed on Wireless, in this case, 5Ghz connection.

Gonna try it with a CAT-6 cable.

For better speedtest result, you may change the speedtest server to Telekom Malaysia or Time dotcom. You can test it again, ping should be lower down to around 25.

Actually my way to avoid late turbo upgrade is to avoid upgrade my unifi package again before Turbo period. I'm so lucky that the person who was first enjoyed turbo speed. However, my current problem is my 500mbps can't get full speed up to 500mbps but just speed up to 60% out of 500mbps.

Actually before TM commence turbo during August, that time I already know that TM is going to upgrade ex-Unifi customers to turbo speed. Later that, I was receive a call from TM telemarketer. The person is trying to convince me to upgrade my current 50mbps (during August) to 100mbps with just add up RM40. I was just told him RM200+ per month is too expensive and I can't afford that much. So I was rejected him directly.

If I really upgraded to Unifi Advance 100mbps RYE 2018 for RM2xx during that time, I sure can't get the offer of Unifi Advance 500mbps Turbo 2018 now. TM is trying to trick me and he thought that I'm just a frog in the well. Besides from the reason of too expensive for 100mbps during that time, my other reason to reject him because I want to wait for Unifi Turbo. So please do not do anything unnecessarily during TM is running Turbo upgrading plan.

i'm from that forum and then only i'm here. my speed reading is from LAN cable cat 7. I've asked them to reset my port, restart my router multiple times yet still the same. i dont expect to receive full 300Mbps coz i know they're still in pilot phase.. but at least give me 50% of speed that they promise
*
hi, where do you from? I'm from KK. That day I went into TM chat room then tell the CS there about my internet speed only can reach 300mbps. My current plan is Unifi Turbo 500mbps. They were arranged a technician to come to my home to check. The TM guy came to check my signal, they take out the fiber optics cable from BTU then test with a machine that he brought.

He show to me my line no problem, signal is strong and can detect my plan is definitely 500mbps. So I was asked him whether is my router problem but he can't confirm to me whether is router issue.

So nevermind, he asked me to monitor for one more week. Then call back to TM after a week if the line still maintaining 300mbps only. So actually in that time I already doubt for the router issue. My router is Asus RT-AC55UHP which was served me for more than 2 years. Quality is good and connection is very stable. However, in that night, I was decided to place order to buy a cheap China version Asus RT-AC86U. The price is around RM560, shipping cost from China is around RM30. So I was considered it total price is RM590 for this router.

So in the next week, I was went back to TM chat room to report my issue to the CS. I was provided my previous report ID to them but in the end, none of the CS can help me to solve my problem. Later that, I was lodged a report to MCMC. My router is still en route from China in this week. So I have to wait until next week.

After wait for another week, finally was received my new router. So, another story here you can see here.

My conclusion is simple, just upgrade your router to solve the speed issue. In the end, I was closed down the MCMC report because I was wrongly blamed TM, this is my fault.

i'm in kuching. planning to change my router too but i dont want to spend unnecessarily, unless if i know the main culprit is the router. coz scared later after changing router the speed is still the same because its on TM fault. btw u bought china goods from shopee/lazada or from taobao? if taobao, how's the quality? reliable or not?
yup... and unstable as well
*
I was bought from taobao but only from Tmall. Recently that China customs has very strict for foreigners to buy goodies from taobao. This router only allow for Tmall seller to ship out from China.
Others normal sellers are not allowed to ship to Malaysia.

About the quality, actually it is 100% same like local set. Performance is very powerful, you should try yourself to experience how powerful is it.
You can check in here too and read the buyers' review.

my BTU is just an Alcatel Lucent I-240G, router is Asus RT-AC86U, connections you may read my feedback here.

i am not at home now. however, it is not related to BTU issue. I was asked TM before, no matter you are using which type of BTU, it is no effect on unifi turbo. Even you are using the Unifi VIP very old Huawei BTU, you still can get speedup turbo plan. All you need is upgrade to gigabit router.

ya but some older BTU dont even have gigabit support, so impossible to go over 100mbps.

As for wifi, even worse, no matter what BTU or Router you use, its near impossible to get over 300mbps.
*
You can always go to chatroom to chat with the TM customer service at http://www.unifi.com.my
My unifi was applied at 2016 only with 30mbps during that time. Last time I am keep complaining about my internet only has 27mbps download speed.
I also lodge a lot of MCMC report to complain TM. I even got buy a ONU from China and try to replace it but end with no luck.

Later that, my line was gradually speed up to 30mbps full in the next year. Later that, I was received thank you surprise campaign free upgrade to 50mbps. My line has 51~52mbps during that time.

Only come to last month, my unifi was get turboed to 500mbps. However, I only can get 300mbps maximum on wired and 120mbps only wifi. I was keep complaining to TM too in last month.
I was still persist that it is not my router problem. Do you know my router Asus RT-AC55UHP is definitely a gigabit router. Why does a gigabit router can't afford to reach up to 500mbps?

TM was arranged a technician to come to my house and check for my line. He just directly take out the fiber cable then plug into the machine that he was brought. Later that, he was told me that my signal is strong. His machine is displaying my line is definitely 500mbps. He can't confirm to me whether is my router problem. However, actually that time I was suspected about the culprit is my router bottleneck.

Ok now with your PC plug with a LAN cable to your router. You should login to your Asus router now, then go to "Status". You can see a CPU graph in there. Now you open another new tab then visit speedtest.net. Change the server to Telekom Malaysia. Split both screen side by side, your router screen and speedtest.net side by side. Click Go to do speedtest, you should notice that your router's CPU begin to load up. Until it reach up to 100%. When your router reach up to 100%, you will notice that your download speed in speedtest.net can't reach to maximum speed. This is your router problem. Your current router is not powerful enough. You need a very powerful router such like dual core CPU router for example Asus RT-AC86U, which comes with Broadcom 1.8GHz dual core processor inside this beast.

So now, you should upgrade your router again in order to get 500mbps full speed on cable and 450mbps+ on wifi.

Asus RT-AC86U fully support unifi? wifi max can do 800mbps?

I may give it a try. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I give up complaining to TM long time ago, only call when line down more than 24hours. lol

30mbps for low end routers, price range around RM150
100mbps for low to mid end routers, price range around RM200~RM400
300mbps for mid end routers, price range around RM500
500mbps for mid to high end routers, price range RM800~RM1,200
800mbps ~ 1000mbps for high end routers, price range around RM1,500~RM2,000

this is suggested price range for routers to suit the package you own.

RT-AC86U release date is Q3 2017, AC2900, 1.8GHz dual core
RT-AC87U release date is Q4 2014, AC2400, 1GHz dual core
RT-AC88U release date is Q4 2015, AC3100, 1.4GHz dual core

I'm sure will buy an Asus RT-AC86U, because it has faster CPU by comparing to AC87U and AC88U.

This router is selling around RM1,200~RM1,400 in Malaysia here. That's why you should buy directly from Tmall.
https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a230r...e27b&abbucket=2

the China version is fully compatible with Unifi, you can read my feedback of this router too

Hi, got turbo-ed to 800Mbps, still using old TPLink from tm, AC1200/C5, connected using 5Ghz. constantly getting no more than 150Mbps (Megabits). Feeling weird, cause as i know TPLINK AC 1200 supposes support up to 867Mbps for 5Ghz channel, but i dont even get more than 300Mbps. Anyone? Please advice.
*
Hi, you need to upgrade to high-end router after turbo. High-end router you know? It will cost you more than RM1,000. Such like Asus RT-AC86U, AC88U, RT-AC5300.

You have several options to choose,
1st option: If you are very poor now, better just go to TM then downgrade to 100mbps @RM129
2nd option: If money is not a problem for you, just drive a car go down to computer shop to buy an Asus RT-AC86U (at least) now.
3rd option: If you don't want to downgrade but not much money, go to visit taobao or lazada to buy a cheap China version Asus RT-AC86U.

Hi, sorry to ask a little off topic. Currently using unifi in KK. I was thinking whether to downgrade to rm 129 or change to celcom 40mbps as here
https://www.lowyat.net/2018/169686/celcom-h...price-official/

1 issue I’m concerned if changing to celcom will be less stable and higher ping as i frequently play dota 2. Any one can share advice or experience?
*
Celcom home fibre should has lower ping and downlod = upload equal speed. Unlike Unifi, all the fibre in Sabah and Sarawak are pulling from west Malaysia with higher ping. Unifi in Sabah here are higher than 25, mostly are around 50.
