QUOTE(xbotzz @ Jul 30 2013, 11:37 AM) this may have been repeated here, i just read the first 10 pages and the last 10 pages.. so its still the same went to ocbc to try out the FD promo.. came back disappointed.. sharing my lessons learnt.. 1. we cant transfer $$ from an existing account to the FD or CASA.. its in the TnC, i missed it, the banker missed it... got to know the very last minute... so now i have to spend RM2 x 2 to bank into another bank and back to ocbc.. 2. SS interest are based on the total deposits of the month only and not the total amount in the account. I guess you guys should know about this also. need some help on calculating here.. say total i have 17k to play with, and - I have 10k to put into FD.. i get 4.5 per annum.. which gives me about 37.5 per month x 3 = 112.5. - I put in the balance 5k in SS(no interest?-its still a deposit right) so i assume 2.9% pa which gives me about 12.08 interest for that month.. - I put 1k each for the balance 2 month in SS at 2.9% which gives me 9.66 for 2 months.. total from SS for 3months = 12.08+9.66=21.74 so total 17k for three months i get 112.5+21.74=134.24 ~ 536.96 p/a which gives me 3.15% .. for those who got lost, im sorry.. those who can see this.. is this right ?... haha.. [3.15 pa] |

QUOTE(xbotzz @ Jul 31 2013, 01:12 AM) ya.. someone PM me already and help me out.. thanks gsc.. i was making the calculation too complicated.. want to tell all here. settle dy.. thanks again.. those like PBB Super FD and other those promotion are basically bullshit, when you calculated correctly, its real that the interest not that high. Eg, 12++ % for 1st month and following. In the end, will more likely higher than normal FD [ABIT] What we earn is only more than normal FD abit, wheres the particular bank take in our money. This is the consequences..... What really earn is UT. |

QUOTE(pinksapphire @ Aug 1 2013, 08:19 PM) Seems like lately there's a number of savings account that provides nearly 3% interest. there a lot TnC behind..... FD last time also not that much higher. Just off-topic a bit. Anyone considering to go for this? Suitable for those with spare cash, can put into this to get decent % with chances of winning RM500, lol. But the conditions seems complicated. BTW, the chance of winning. LOL LOL Hahahahahaa Can lo, put like 1K inside |
