do you think will affect all the FD in banks or even PNB products such as ASG, ASM etc?

I was in RHB yesterday, SA is considered as existing customer. Pure FD rate is better as RHB want to reward their exsting customers...there s a target limit, once reach, this offer is closed.

Existing customers means having account prior to 1 Aug. thus if you open account in Aug you are still considered as "new" customer. this is what I was told yesterday

this is how they make money huh

you guys really sure this FD rate will beat the inflation rate?

you guys really sure there will be no more better deal in this 5 years time?

are you guys really sure, econ crisis will not blow to BR and BR is no protection by PIDM.

and you guys really sure this FD rate will ever beat PNB products and also PBB Mutual ?

If yes, you are most welcome to join the BR FD smile.gif

Wow. I am impressed. I just asking some questions and see what i have got? Strong bold comment. Seem like i am bashing you guys, but in fact I AM NOT.

I NEVER compare anything. But, sigh.

If want compare, compare 90's FD rate to now.

Up to 12% ( ComB, MBB, HSBC, PBB ) compare to now, which is 3 - 5 %.

I know the chances for a bank to fall is relatively low, but i am just concern about it, please don't get me wrong, mate. smile.gif

Nope, i din't compare, because HJebat did mention in the reply blush.gif

I am quite new in FD, thats why i ask more about BR. sad.gif

I think is impossible for me to got 5% since i can't made it to the min req.

Ok, fine, I did. I do. I want compare at first. You satisfied.

A very simple inquiry, does the rate of A will higher then the rate of B. And its not " rate of A will for sure higher than the rate of B "

Holy. If you want me to apologize, fine. I am sorry then. And this thread isn't for inquiry and discussion of FD at first? :/

since u asked, just to share... i do not put my money in non-pidm entities. i do not hv experience with them, but.... i just want no exposure to the non traditional, often labeled "shadow banks" that hv certain risk, a risk anyone can dispel or take seriously. no one can say that is right or wrong, just an individual's risk appetite at best or perception at worst.

see, 99% of the time, nothing happens, all is safe. but what if that 1% happens to you, what do u do?

like life, accident, medical, home burglary insurance, there is no value in buying n paying until n unless you know it happens to u. such is the nature of insurance.

all said, it's all about how u view the local economy, yr confidence on the banks incl bnm, yr trust on the politicans and the the real state of the economic health n the accompanying intrigue that surrounds us.

this some how remind me of the what kooperasi last few decades...... But this is some how according to personal perception. nod.gif

so, wat is yr perception?

I am being neutral. If you know what I mean.

my own opinion is that chances for a bank to fall nowadays is relatively low, but there is still %. But there is a reason why this body, say, PIDM is exist. Although the body is look like vase for now, its good to be there by the way. Well, in this cases and this situation, we need some solid proof. That is why, opinion. nod.gif

Same here, my portion on FD is my FD. And I do have some FD on PIDM protected bank too. smile.gif
My UT do yield >5% p.a., but that is a separate portfolio, diff risk level.
I have another portfolio on Dual Currency, that yield >10% p.a.. Again it is a separate basket, higher risk. icon_rolleyes.gif
Am looking into REIT, but don't have time to start another portfolio. tongue.gif

Very good portfolio of investment !!!!

REIT now doing good?

Which kooperasi are you talking about?
Is it the one from MCA during 1970's or 1980's?

yea yea. I don't know how it goes ad. Is it namely 合作社?

my dad told me the branch at first open like mushroom after rain. 1 small place also got branch. The interest is like more than 10% pa... But then collapse.

If in your opinion? Can you share?
For example, let's say if you have RM 50K cash, where would you put your money now?

Just for discussion only... smile.gif

马化合作社?

I will go for the better deal for sure. I am quite conservative type. So will go for stable growth and income type.

well let say I have 50k now, I will go for pnb product, that's from my heart. But for 35 k only. The remaining will go for FD as I don't know when I need that fund. Normally UT will more likely for long term investment. For sure impossible whole asset dump in as we know UT have its own risk even is relatively low......

This koperasi collapsed case (about 30 years ago) involved of a politic issue..
If somebody wants to use this as an example to reflect xx.. I would say he/she uses a wrong example..
Both have different backgrounds and business objectives..

A koperasi was formed (30 years ago) only benefit to one race and without looking at the reaction of the
"country manager" nor listening to his advice...so this was the outcome...

Hey, i read the full story line already, but i don't know that version is correct or not. But, understanding the whole situation, i can say the group of leader is pity and being harmed by others, they even being jailed, and there go the starting collapse of MCA. Sigh. Actually what my thought was, the action isn't harm any other people. But just some will got jealous and thats the outcome sad.gif But how come, the other side also did the same till today, why they can, we can't.
