QUOTE Whats more, the winning team for both Counter-Strike 1.6 and DotA-Allstars 6.32b from our cafe preliminaries at 24 participating cybercafes WILL stand a chance to represent Malaysia to the WCG Asian Championship in Singapore. However, only the best of the best will have this honour to represent Malaysia to Singapore. http://my.worldcybergames.comwut bout diz? QUOTE winners at cybercafe prelims have nothing to do with wcg asian championship it is an invitation tournament from last year champs seems like it got thing to do with it This post has been edited by oSm0sis: Jul 12 2006, 04:02 PM

QUOTE(oSm0sis @ Jul 12 2006, 03:37 PM) i heard bout wcg asian at sg..the date is before wcg malaysia final. does it mean winners at cybercafe prelims will compete 2 times? i mean one national final n one more to find a rep to sg? I asked this question to in2 crew when they were at MMU Cyberjaya. Although I didn't really understand how everything goes but seems that like you said, the champs of each cybercafe will be seeded in WCG Malaysia National Final and they also will be competing with each other with the winner going to Singapore. Besides, it's only for CS and DoTA. The rest of the game most probably will be represented by last year champs. Note that DoTA at WCG Pan-Asian are OPEN category. Even if you didn't get to win to represent Malaysia at Cybercafe Prelims Final, you still can go Singapore and join it.

I asked that as well. They said they will held a special competition among the champs. So, it's like the champs of the champs will go to Singapore. It's a bit confusing. I need to call in2 tmrw btw, so I'll ask again

For the asian championship it goes like that. Other game except dota and cs is represented by last year champ since there's no prelim for those game. Cs/Dota winner from all cc/college will compete in a special competition to see who will represent MY to Asian Championship, the competition most likely will be held at beggining of August. So it means cc/college winner can join 2 competition. 1= Asian championship national final to see who goes to SG, 2= WCG National final to see who will go to Italy. This is the decision currently made, further changes will be notice.

Since nles alrdy clarify on that matter, I didn't call in2 today Anyway, my club president passed me some WCG Malaysia tickets for sale. There's CS 1.6 and DoTA tickets among others. This mean CS 1.6 and DoTA will be available at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center this August. Looks like CS and DoTA teams have a lot of chance to qualify for National Finals. If you interested to get WCG Malaysia tickets from me, more info available here : WCG Malaysia Tickets Thread

QUOTE SINGAPORE, 12 July 2006-Razer(tm), the world's leading brand in high-end computer gaming peripherals, today announced its position as the main sponsor for this year's Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) Singapore 2006.
Leveraging from a highly successful event at The Padang last October, CPL returns to Singapore for the second year in a row. CPL Singapore 2006, also labeled "The Ultimate Southeast Asian Shootout", will be held from September 15 - 17, 2006 at Orchard Road's Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza - right in the heart of Singapore's busiest and most vibrant shopping district.
Looking to draw professional gamers, aspiring gamers and game enthusiasts from around the region and the world, Razer is proud to support Singapore and the region's burgeoning gaming and digital entertainment industry as the main sponsor of such an internationally recognized gaming event.
CPL's choice of Singapore as the first event for this year's CPL World Season recognizes the island-nation's potential as a Southeast Asian stronghold for digital entertainment and computer gaming, consequently spurring the nation's role as a world-class cybergaming and digital entertainment hub.
Frag or to be Fragged by Counter-Strike 1.6 and Quake 4 Extremely popular First-Person-Shooter (FPS) computer games, Counter-Strike 1.6 and Quake 4, will dominate the two official gaming tournaments at CPL Singapore 2006.
Counter-Strike 1.6 is a widely popular team-based Half-Life multi-player mod game featuring a counter-terrorist theme.
Quake 4 is an extreme First-Person-Shooter game with blistering fast, weapon blazing action.
Registration is open to all amateur and professional gamers aged 17 years and above. Registration fees include US$30 for Quake 4 single players and US$150 for Counter-Strike 1.6 clans. Gamers may register online at www.cplsingapore.com from August 1, 2006 onwards. quoted from http://www.thecpl.com/league/finally a quake 4 tourney that is close to our 'boleh-land' and the registeration fee is a whoop in the ass xD and as i could predicted, participant from malaysia is gonna be quite low since the number of cs clans and quakers are quite countable

The tickets for final not easy to sell now 1st, cause many of the dota/cs player would rather join prelim 1st. Since if won prelim got prize, can join 2 competition summore. Anyway to clarify things up, Only CyberCafe Winners will be joining Asian Championship prelim. College Winner only joining grand final at KLCC 25th-27th August.
