wooo.. the international federation of women entrepreneurs...

well, my honest opinion of IFWE is that it doesn't hit the right note at all. why autumn leaves? why such a color that's boring? and I think the website offers much less than it should be giving other visitors especially budding women entrepreneurs.

as for Kausar Corporation, Flash is overused. there are things that xHTML/CSS with some DOM nowadays that can replace the non-necessary Flash menu. the website may have that futuristic appeal but to me doesn't exactly do the website/client's identity any good.

Saddiq Solutions needs a better way of displaying it's Company/SubcComany Info because we're not watching a movie of text. if there's a need to scroll, allow the user to control that.

overall, I think Flash is overused due to the fact that it's overated and too many 'website designers' today are just being employees instead of consultants.

anyway, those are my honest opinions.

Cheers.

lol.. well, that's why i said in the last part.. if you're an employee then you just do the work.. if you're a consultant.. you advice. wink.gif

there was a time when i was an employee but i had it with the local scene and decided to go my own and i dun care if clients are being hard heads as long i can reach them and deliver my message. smile.gif

I like the designs, but besides the scrolling pages, I don't think using flash is feasible. It runs slow for my PC at work, and that is quite important. I found Kausar's website design looking very dull for a flash website. Something is missing, I'm not quite sure what. Its probably the use of font type or font size. That makes it look less corporate. Saddiq group's design is cool, but needs more oomph, I see a lot of white space.

Regarding etsuko's comment,
I guess its easy if you're on your own, cause where I worked last time as a flash designer, we had to reiterate our designs to comply with the client's wants. Its cool that you have the option to defend your design choices.

IMO, web designers now are probably "employees" cause that's how the employers want them to be. I remember how my layout design was butchered and how the final product is way off from what I wanted it to be, to please the clients a.k.a "designer".

well, i'm not asking anyone to be an opposition or an active elitist. tongue.gif

just that every 'website designer' should give thought about what they're doing now in comparison to what others out of these borders are doing. think about what makes them respected and why can't malaysians do the same?

i've thought about it during my time as an employee and I made a big step towards it. to be honest, we don't make hell alot of money but i'm happy because i'm doing something i know it's right and it's towards a better web industry for malaysia. smile.gif

anyway, for those working under people now. don't restrict your capabilities and knowledge to what you're doing. read and learn other stuff like business, advertising, fashion and etc. you'll find it handy in future when you too think that you're sick and tired of how the industry is treating its designer, its clients and your love for website design. smile.gif

cheers.

Hmm, I think you could defend your design, and give your sincere opinion why you chose to design it that way initially. Like etsuko says, you know design better, so I think you have more depth in your opinion.

All I can say is, a website is for the client's current and potential customers, not the client. tongue.gif

Correct but you need to be careful in explaining it to them so that they don't feel threatened from lack of knowledge. Not all bosses of a company are patient and people who listen to learn. They like to be 'boss' so you need to be a lil more patient in return. smile.gif

I think the kaussar content text is too big, what size are you using? 12 pt.? What font are is that?

I don't know, but my eyes just feel that the fonts are too big. unsure.gif

IMHO,
we'll earn less when we argue more and when that boss can't stand arguements. if you got boss that listen to us, it will be better.

urm.. i dun think that happens because if it does, that's very unprofessional. besides, i've normally got a contract with stated price in there so no changes to the price unless I do it.
