POSB/DBS cannot? but when i open the account, even i bring my pass, they just check my pass and then request for my malaysia passport and IC, no minimum require initially, but you have to deposit money in after the account open to avoid charges.

POSB need 5000 sgd as initial deposit whereas DBS need a IPA that issued in 1 month( more than that they need a EP).
Guess that i need to wait for the EP to collect. Anyone know what is the waiting time for collection of the EP after the employer have issued the EP? To collect the EP need an appoinment with MOM rite? What I should bring when I collect the EP?

i opened an account few weeks back with my IPA.

No initial deposit if u gt ur EP already. The problem is that I don't have my EP now. Can you tell me where you open your account? Which branch?
What do you mean by submit form? Is it me going to submit the form personally or the employer will help me going to submit it?

No, I opened an account with POSB Bukit Panjang Branch with just my IPA. Not EP. I this is my 3rd time stating this.
You got your IPA already, means you just need to go to EPSC after u complete your medical check-up and submit the necessary documents as requested in the IPA.
After that, they will tell you when to collect your EP.

I wonder why the jurong branch insist me to get the EP first..

I opened my account with Malaysia IC only 5 years ago, now they have tightened the rules which required proof of residence.
Overheard from my HR that certain branch will not entertain IPA at all.

Anyway, have you found a job?

Ya, I got my job already. Thanks alot for all the feedback. The last resort will be Bukit Panjang Branch it seems.

Anyone can help me give some advice on going to JB from Woodlands?

A) After i reach MRT station in Woodlands, are there bus from that MRT station? Are the Woodlands CIQ located nearby with the MRT station?
B) if i wan to take bus, which bus i should take at Woodlands CIQ? Are there ticket counter for CW or SBS bus there?
C) can you guys explain again what should be done when we reach immigration checkpoint? I read frm the forum that we need to be aware of something but I forget already where I read it ( alot of post in previous thread and have done alot of searches but unable to find it). Anyone can refreshed me what I need to do?

Sorry for asking noob question. First time to travel to JB from SG. Hope to get feedback on this. Thanks!!

A)woodlands take,950. kranji take 170/CW. these buses  heading toward JB(Larkin/kotaraya), so they will go through custom as well, just alight when everyone do so, and move to clear custom, would be upstair. then go back down you will see all bus service down there.if you miss the bus, dont worry, u still can board next bus using ezlink or bus ticket(applicable only for same bus service).

B) where are you going actually? if you already take bus from woodlands mrt,you got bus ticket, just use back same ticket to board the bus. for ezlink, just rescan only.

C) if you didn't look suspicious and didn't bring any illegal thing, just walk only. JB custom only check if you look suspicious. woodlands CIQ does not clear for those leave SG, only check when come in SG.
i never knew that we need to be aware of something. unless u talking about JB instead of custom la. JB u need to be aware of scratch and win only. hope i ans your question.

(A&B) i just going to area around JB.. Looking for place that have cash deposit machine, place to eat and shopping complex.. Any idea that i can find the place around Larkin Bus terminal ( walking distance)? Or should i get off the bus before i reach Larkin bus terminal?

If let say i want to go back sg, must i go to larkin bus terminal to board the bus? Or are there any bus stop around JB central city that I can alight to board the bus?

Thanks for all the feedback guys.. smile.gif
