warning for taking bus.
it's 10hours ride (for my case), not feasible. waste of time, you'll get tired and frustrated. andthe price difference isn't much. |

of course im not gonna compare it to peak.
when you wanna fly in just to attend interviews, you would pick off-peak days. and yes the price difference isn't much. * also, even for peak, bus tickets will be more expensive also This post has been edited by paranoid: May 15 2013, 04:18 PM |

QUOTE(Metatron90 @ May 16 2013, 02:14 PM) oh isee..thanks... so its recommended that if i ever get a job..i'll most probally go for short term rental 1st? if you're offered a job already, you would need to come to singapore to sign documents, process your EP application etc.i'd suggest you take a few days off, and look for rooms to rent while u're in singapore to do that. before you come to singapore, search online and make a few viewing appointments first if possible. arrange your viewings during the time you're expected to be in singapore. so you can straight away rent a proper unit instead of moving from one to another. if the dates you are to move in is a bit later, you can stay in those budget inn or tumpang stay at your friend's place, so you dont have to commit staying in a poor room for months. QUOTE(Metatron90 @ May 16 2013, 02:32 PM) that is after i get the offer and confirmed rite? ok ok...am currently job hunting.. most of the jobs i see only open for Singaporean and PRs only... there are a lot of jobs for malaysians, some of the jobs are open for malaysians too. you can enquire more through your agent if you're applying through agents.and as for room/unit rentals, you need to have working permit before you can rent a unit legally. |

QUOTE(~PussyDevil~ @ May 21 2013, 11:20 AM) The reason I asked is because there's much talk around me about "working in Singapore is better". Everyone blinded by the exchange rate and think they could land an above average pay in SG bcoz we are considered foreigners. Or with hopes of getting out of msia. mind to share what do they suffer in particular? However, I have relatives and friends there. And I visit SG once a year. I see the problems an average sg-rians suffers and its obviously not a fairy land like most people think. So I was wondering, do you guys really feel a major impact/ life changing experience compared to before? I said feel, bcoz there's no accurate measurement or comparison between 2 different living conditions. honestly, i feel that majority of the singaporeans lived in a shell. all they do is complain how bad their life is without knowing that life in singapore is actually far better than a lot of countries. moving from malaysia to singapore, i enjoyed my life quite a bit. there is more balance in how much you're earning and you're spending here. rather than taking opinions from singaporeans only, you should ask how malaysians feel. |
