Thanks. I'm wondering how much of a premium one would pay for the proximity to MRT over a place like Pinnacle. Pinnacle is probably 8-10 minutes walk. What I have in mind is seriously 2-3 minutes from the train platform to the condo, across the road from a mall and a HDB commercial hub next to mall. The most equivalent place would be AMK Centro, next to AMK Hub/bus interchange, AMK Central and MRT.
*
Similar setup to your condo would be oleanders towers in toa payoh, 5min walk to hdb hub/mrt / interchange.
I saw some advert listed around 1.2k.but it is a '98 condo. Can check propertyguru.

KL was home. So I generally lazed at home.
My place here in SG needs more things, but i'm too stingy to buy things to decorate/gadgetify my house.

Otherwise will just be go shopping and lim teh around some kopitiam.

So looking for alternatives.

Any good foods worth going on a trip for around Singapore?

If u want to go for food trip, can also follow ieatishootipost hawker guide n try them out.

Can go relax at sentosa beaches or take short ferry trip to batam, bintan too. A lot of things to do lah. But sometimes after one week of hectic work, lazed around at home is the best hehe.

Like ivanswk mentioned, those with kids, the expenses will be around there, esp with commitment back in MY. U cannot afford to downgrade so much when u have kids.

The only downgrade we had is no car as I was unemployed when came here. And of course no landed house anymore. Now I got job can consider those car with 2-3yrs Coe as replacement for taxi.

mules, hope you and your kid adapt soon and get a job later. Get those shop n save trolley for easier shopping. Bought during offer 12$. Very useful when hv kids to look also.

fionachin daycare for <18mth infant is $1.2k average, PCF & NTUC. >18mth toddler is half of that. Putting in daycare = more money to go clinics but extra time for u n partner. And good for the kid to be socially active.

@xtylish, nowadays got few type of graduates.

One I know is feeling of entitlement of X salary with their paper certificate without knowing their own ability or capacity.
Another one, do not want to face the harsh reality of working life and just run away doing masters simply because parents still can afford them for a sheltered life. By the time these masters holder grad, they will whine that their master worth less than spm.

Malay is one of the official language in Singapore... are you sure they need translation?
*
Yes, they required. Official but no the business language. I thought of the same but they require it so hv to do for my marriage cert. Apply also to education cert like degree cert issued in BM only. Must translate.

Hold on to your MY job, keep on looking. Try monster. 1mth no response normal la. I took 6mth, and was a resident, just another not-so-outstanding employee, thus took longer. If u are an outstanding prospect, the chance will come. But then again, nothing is rosy as it seems here. Fresh grad can get low pay also, even with experience. Just don't sell yourself short, later butthurt, everyday rants about other people earning more than u. Added with stress life here, whats the point?

U dun hv ppl forcing u to work here, so take ur time n equip yourself. IT have to fight Indian who hv multiple certs, angmoh good in selling themselves and others, including local grad.

hi, may i know where is the best place to get affordable and reasonable furniture in singapore?

i would like to buy new bedframe and mattress for double bed one. May i know how much is the normal price which is around the market?

Thank you for your answer.
*
i bought a bed from furniture mart sg. cheap + quality as u pay for + free delivery + on time as scheduled + no hardsell + no excuses.

furnituremart.sg

cheap queen divan type will be around $200, king $300

for bedframe, actually a lot of cheap ikea bedframe going around for sale in gumtree or craiglist sg. you will need to arrange delivery, which many advert in those site also. prices start from $25 per delivery. but check for bed bugs first doh.gif

metatron
some already PR, some applied, some haven't , some din even bothered to be PR.

my point of view of not applying PR yet :
not much benefits anymore, even you are married and have children. just for the extra CPF contribution from co, which can only use for education or buying HDB. u take home pay lesser also.

samual
get a job first, work first then move on to other job then get PR. if you want to get PR right after getting job, you must be target to get P1 EP job whistling.gif
what is wrong about working in a 90% singaporean? better than 90% ah neh.
