got pros and cons. if you go for short term then once the term is up you probably have to negotiate the rental again. if you signed 1 year then 1 year later only negotiate on the rental.

there are a lot of jobs for malaysians, some of the jobs are open for malaysians too. you can enquire more through your agent if you're applying through agents.

and as for room/unit rentals, you need to have working permit before you can rent a unit legally.

I have received invitations to apply for citizenship a couple of times before. But that was before. Now you hear all this talk about only wanting the right types of PRs to remain... ie. those that want to make SG their permanent home someday. I haven't heard of ReEntry Permit renewals being rejected but have seen a few shortened below the usual 5 years (subject to passport expiry).

So right now, perhaps the best approach is lie low, ignore the survey and just stay under the radar.

maybe for my case I already say not interested to become PR .. so they save 1 EZlink card. 1 EZlink card $3, can save a lot ooooo
