Any opening for Bach OF IT Communication and Network?

Hi there,

I soon will be interview at Dell Penang face-to-face. Interview for an IT Project Manager role...not sure about whether it is a senior position. Had been in Penang for two years previously, worked at Motorola and Intel. Now in Singapore.

Seriously, how is Dell's working environment? Overly political? how is performance measure? How often is there bonus payout? How the bonus have been? How is the IT operations there? I have no problem with US MNC culture as I have worked in the US for more than 10 years. Just wonder how true they stick to the US culture there in Penang. As for work load, what is is it like? 120% ...in some other MNC, they'll make you do two person's job and have to compete with others...see who can do more than what they should and compensate you for doing more than your role. IS Dell similar? or is it just that they you have a lot to do that is related to your job responsibility. TO me, those are two different things.

Hello gang - would like to know if anyone can advise on accomodation nearby dell factory? my fren gonna work there soon and she is having problems looking for an apt - whats the best place to stay in bayan lepas near dell ?

Accommodation is slightly easy at Bayan Lepas ... places like Sg Ara, Sg Dua, Relau, Bukit Jambul, Tmn Sri Nibung, Gelugor and etc.

Of course I know ... but I'm still jobless. That's the sad part.

So a relocation to Penang won't be a problem to me as I always told the interviewers.

thats what i tot also but already two weeks my fren still cant locate a place - non of the real estate agent managed to secure a place to view - guess we have to go and look on our own

agents normally handle for u if u want a whole house.

room is not hard to find. go to 7-11 or any 24 hours shops and look for the notice board there

What I heard is a bit political ..especially you in the managerial position.
Environment not sure, as I'm never work there before.

I think you can search somewhere around Sungai Ara, Relau or Bukit Jambul area. The distance to Dell is about 8km or less

If you have your own transportation, it won't be a problem.

Thanks to everyone who have replied - i did called up some property agents but their responses have been slow somewhat- am wondering if anyone lives around sg ara or bkt jambul area ? can help me get some numbers from 7-11 ? hehhee

Oh yeah, to LMS2005- you dun need to be a penang resident to work in dell penang - just take it easy and keep on applying to dell if you think u have the necessary skills and experiences. all the best to you

Couple of months ago, DELL Malaysia has recently implemented their Enterprise Command Center (sorta like centralized helpdesk, consulting and links with multiple vendors for support services..) So, there might be a lot of jobs if you have multiple vendors hardware/software support experiences.
