if slim model, the word "slim" should show on the box, right?
how to identify console is slim or not?

but the hdd is NOT compatible for both, right?

Yes, officially that's right. Hdd slim is meant to be use for slim only while hdd fat is meant to be use for fat xbox 360 only because of the different in casing size.
Unofficially, there are tons of tutorials on how you can break the casing of fat hdd and use in slim xbox 360  |
