ANy of the reputable brands should do fine.

Just need to see if u want to use ISOFIX or not.

Also, bring your baby along and let them try it out

Chicco Nextfit Zip seems like a good choice after reading some reviews. One thing i like is that it has built-in lock offs which is quite convenient for cars that dont have isofix. Most of our cars in Malaysia is not ALR seat belts hence require built-in lock offs on child car seats or require an additional part which is the locking clip to secure. Using a locking clip to secure is quite tedious.

I believe u r planning to put it at your rear car seat. Safest position is the rear center seat. Check wat type of seat belt your car is using (ELR or ALR). Also measure the estimated allowable space coz this child car seat is quite big.

Good luck in finding a suitable child car seat. I am also going to Singapore next week with my wife and 2 toddlers.

totally agree with you on the ALR seat belts.

i am actually planning to secure the car seat at the rear passenger side as the middle seat is raised and curvy. assume not as safe?

thank you. i really hope i can get it done by Sunday. have a good break in Spore to you.

If your car dont have ISOFIX, then seat belt would be your only option. Securing using the seat belt also have some advantages compare to ISOFIX:
1) Child car seat can use on most cars (seat belt/ISOFIX)
2) ISOFIX uses more unnecessary width space than securing using car seat belt
3) Most car dont have ISOFIX in the rear middle seats.
4) ISOFIX have weight limitation so u must check the ISOFIX weight limitation of your car and the child car seat. Car seat belt's weight limitation depends on your child car seat.

But ISOFIX is certainly easier to secure.

Securing the child car seat at the rear middle seat is the safest. The side impact can be greatly reduced. Even though your car's middle seat is raised and curvy, it should be fine as long your child car seat cannot move more than 1 inch from side to side, front to back.
You need to check what type of car seat belt your car have (3 point ELR/3 point ALR/lap belt). Then check whether the child car seat u intended to purchase can use it.

I don't agree with putting the baby in the middle seat. Either the left or right side would be more secure. Also the raised middle part will make it hard to secure against lateral movement.

Thank you both. in the end i bought the pep preggo viaggo as it is more convenient in putting in my daughter and not too confined for her age (1.5 y).

the sales person help secure at the rear passenger seat as he mentioned that it is more secure and the driver can always check on her.

Hi, to meet your budget around RM300 is quite difficult I feel for ECE R44/04 Compliant car seats. However, we do have one in a particular colour which I can arrange for a special discount for you at RM380.00 which is Beige Colour. Also this car seat is actually from Newborn to 6 years old (0 - 25kg).
If you are interested you can send me a PM.

If you would like to see its

Our car got isofix, so we gotten an isofix car seat. We got the britax dualfix. Really useful for my wife especially, cause easy to put baby in and out of the car with the rotating seat. We are driving a CX5 and Volvo XC90, so we can move it around with the isofix easy clip on and off, but after awhile moving it around is heavy, we got lazy. We got it from 11street last time. But I think the price went up now. We got ours for RM1600 after with the discounts and coupons we can get from 11street. You can try your luck here

I am looking for carseat currently for my newborn baby....I wanted to get those which is for 0-3years old one. Any brands recomend?

- maxi-cosi
- Britax
- combi
- fisher price
................................etc
Let's discuss!!!!
*
I have a newborn baby as well. I got a maxi-cosi cabriofix with newborn insert. It comes with a ISOFIX base (Easyfit) unit which you can leave in the car. The carseat just clicks into place so it is convenient. You can also use seat belts with the maxi-cosi if you use taxi for example. The maxi-cosi is good to probably one year old and then you need to change to another car seat.

There are also strollers which you can buy that you can snap on a maxi-cost seat

I don't have experience with other brands.

You can try to get second hand and change the seat covers to new ones. Seat covers area also washable.
