QUOTE(alanyuppie @ Mar 4 2013, 03:17 PM) not exactly.. usually LYN forum rules doesnt allow promoting sales in thread this way (there are garage sales section) .... but since seller do it anyway.... make sure the price is better/special rate for us. =) haha... indirect way to get sales... doesnt matter la, ppl that hang out here already got poison and will go surf in the sales garage section anyways. I notice nowadays many trying to sell lego. A lot of AFOLs these days yo!! Im the total opposite.. smaller sets means more mileage in playing/building. with big sets... its a dilema whether to finish building in one session, or split into few session and risk cannot sleep coz excited to wait tomorrow come/continue. And when finally done.... *ouch* .. that's all to my rmxxxx.xx purchase? Ok time for me to do some community service.. Actually i notice a lot of ppl buying lego books from bookstore. why nobody try to buy bookdepository? Prices after shipping (which is free) is quite a bit cheaper than from physical store.. |

QUOTE(mryellow19 @ Mar 4 2013, 04:02 PM) Lol I told myself no haunted house and Arkham for now. But again, I told myself not to step into batman series but I still went ahead and bought 76000, 76001 and 6858. GG = green grocerAnyway, what's GG and CC? Lol I only got two older modular (Fire Brigade & Grand Emporium) at hand now. Was thinking since it's older sets, better get them first before price increase. Place to store is another different problem that can be solved at a later time 2 more incoming and now you know why I can't get Palace yet as of now hahaha. Anyhow, I guess you've got more bigger sets than me especially the trains CC = cafe corner. also got mkt street, albeit a smaller set. This are all the modulars you have to get your hands on leh... |

QUOTE(Mr. Alby @ Mar 4 2013, 04:21 PM) No community service for Lego sets ke?... Actually for community service within a forum, there should be more mass orders to benefit everyone. win win win for everyone! But then i know a lot of resellers wont be happy la... Sometimes im lazy just to buy my own stuff only. If i buy my stuff only, the shipping gonna kill me (but still cheaper than retail most of the time). If i buy extra, i dont want to keep it that long because im not a seller per se... Anyhoo...anyone interested in iron man sets? I already order for me obviously but need more peeps to lower the shipping cost. I dont want the batman sets incident happen again... i want iron man! PM me!! |

QUOTE(paanjang16 @ Mar 4 2013, 09:53 PM) Thread move so fast today... and today is a MONDAY!! Good advise on the modular. Problem with getting started on modular is its so detailed, the smaller sets no longer gv the satisfaction after the built process is finished. And then u just want the next one, and the next, and the next...... Hehe....Alot of people was talking about modular buildings, my advice is that if you are not willing to be poisoned and later spend kau kau to build up your "town", then better don't start modular buildings. Building a modular building is very different compared to say a city set or friends set. A city set might have 800 to 900 pieces but a modular can have 2000+ pieces. Then the interior is fully bricked up and each floor is detailed. Once you build something as big as a modular you will never want to buy any of those small sets anymore. My modular journey started with this 2. ![]() Then got the Pet Shop and Fire Brigade ![]() Then the Town hall with a little MOC joined the group ![]() Till I finally ended up with a corner lot when I decided to MOC my Olivia's house and Heartlake vet with parts I bought from LLM. Yes, I need a bigger table to take all of them again when the palace cinema comes along ![]() I am not planning to buy or bricklink the cafe corner and market street because it is too expensive to do so. Besides there are many more modulars to buy in the future. Not to mentioned haunted house, ackham asylum I have yet to buy. I was at TRU 1U today to check out the Lego selection there. While there is new stock like Hobbit and Superheroes I have some comments:- 1) TRU cut a hole near the bar code to insert an anti-theft tag 2) Some boxes got no ALJ sticker... I think still from ALJ but since rushing to restock maybe no time to add sticker. 3) TRU's Lego shelf is only 50% occupied. The other side got non-Lego stuff and even the Classic AT-AT from Hasbro 4) Got Series 9, but kena picit-picit-picit until no more hot stuff. |

Thinking of ordering from some lego from euro sellers. Do u guys know if some of those sellers say they ship by tnt or dhl, would this be via their local postal or dhl/tnt? Also, once product reach malaysia, would it be sent by pos laju/pos malaysia or by dhl/tnt? I recall i once ordered from a uk seller, shipped/tracking no. by dhl but came via pos malaysia. box was in terrible condition... Ouch...

QUOTE(FunkyMonkiBaby @ Mar 8 2013, 11:05 AM) I have purchased items from US and UK, I always ask for the shipping type and packaging method before payment. May need to pay more for few days delivery and good packaging. LEGO boxes are soft, easily dented unless seller can use bigger box with styrofoam peanuts as cushioning. But most sellers would use newspapers. Actually i ask cos i lazy to go through the customs process. i prefer to use yes man like dhl/fedex/tnt to clear for me. but these euro sellers when they send they ship by economy package, which means most likely will be transfered to local pos laju/malaysia, which will also mean a trip to customs... There are risk involved when buying from overseas. Any problem cannot settle face to face. QUOTE(ilfort @ Mar 8 2013, 04:08 PM) who is selling used modular? |

QUOTE(maxilife1 @ Mar 13 2013, 04:26 PM) my batcave set 6860 just arrived today.. buying one and shipping back is a no-no. some more using bulk courier, even more no-no... bought from amazon using LYN member bulk courier service.. Pros: Good condition of the box, safely arrived, 2 weeks time. Cons: price is not that cheap compare to LYN members who bring in lego..he quoted the volume weight wrongly n had to add more $$ after item arrived.. Conclusion: just wanted to try the service & will not used again unless nobody selling the set [attachmentid=3344579] QUOTE(Mr. Alby @ Mar 13 2013, 04:55 PM) Alby boss already did a very good job, considering he made a lot of effort to cod with multiple buyers in multiple locations and making zero profit. |

QUOTE(Mr. Alby @ Mar 14 2013, 07:54 AM) Guys, i need to confess something. For the past few weeks, you guys once a while mentioned BOM. Actually, i have no idea what is it.... not sure if its only me, i feel BOM is a place where a lot of sellers hang out and post. everyone talking is like selling all the time. no meaningful discussions... I just found out it is Brickfan Of Malaysia... Slow poke... at least here we have the community service boss... |

QUOTE(Mr. Alby @ Mar 14 2013, 04:21 PM) hahahaha... say la. whats stopping u.. I really want to say something, but im afraid someone gonna screen cap & post it there... Anyhoo... At least i can see all the pics (Im a picture W**** by the way.. I think its a bit nasty when some of them discuss about "business". Suddenly a lot of them becoming keyboard warrior instead of keyboard guardian. Just my 2 cents. Don't take me seriously... ok i also will say something. theres a lot of etiquette and ethics missing. some are very "in the face".... i know a lot of forumers here are also there, not pointing finger at anyone, but at least over here there is no constant "business" activity going on... again m2c only... dont shoot me... |
