Must have the words "No to ALJ"  that shld get the t-shirt sales going, and to prove a point smile.gif

Good idea for a club tshirt. I think if we have enough ppl coming together for a yumcha session, many things an be discuss. Most important, to get bulk orders to bring Lego prices down  notworthy.gif
*
actually u cannot blame ALJ since i think their price needs to be standard for whole lot of malaysia, including some remote parts of msia. if only sell in KL, then different story. thats what i think la. distributor has to think of logistics, currency, warehouses to stockpile, custom, bla bla bla.

i'm interested. what's the price like?
*
amazon got discount, but be ready to pay a lot for the shipping. that 1 set alone is more than 10kg. retail in msia is near RM 2k.

QUOTE(mchw08 @ Mar 11 2013, 06:41 AM)
but think bout the cost of rental and xpenses and they purchase not in bulk... not like big dept got better rate n can gave discount...
if buyer thinks its ok and dun want spend lot of time hunting them, etcc.. can get it there. the couple do have other retro and discontinue set.
lol..  thumbup.gif
*
+1 yea, sometimes u hv to think of their rental and time also. online sellers in lowyat can sell cheaper because we don need to rent a shop/place/chair

QUOTE(dilvin @ Mar 11 2013, 07:35 AM)
76001 is retailed at rm209.90 right? with 10% discount, that's really attractive price  smile.gif

ya wor, a lot of ppl asking me. but i told them if got 10% discount, shld get from retail because its not much difference.

on my next post, i would like to share some pricing discrepancy from ALJ (please dont tell them)
actually this is a tip from alanyuppie  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

31002 Super Racer
lego.com price = USD14.99
ALJ price = RM44.9
Conversion = 2.99533022014676

at the time of this writing.
1 USD = 3.10450 MYR
http://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/conver...From=USD&To=MYR

so we are getting the above set cheaper than US  thumbup.gif  icon_idea.gif  brows.gif
the above price is without the 10%/15% discount yet.

u can do the math for other model later (or just refer to what i bought previously  whistling.gif )
*
actually some CREATOR, DUPLO and CITY sets are like this. thats why u see LYN sellers dont bring in those stuff. DUPLO esp. did calculation, and its bout the same price or lower, after direct conversion (no shipping included)

nothing big la actually. depends on whether my freight forwarding company got any limit. i'm changing freight forwarding company already. :| my current one limits me a lot.
so if no limit/max weight....maybe will bring in mid sized like Hobbit unexpected gathering and large sets like modular, haunted house. so depending on when the company replies me...and when i'm free, i will place order lo. gonna be a big big risk for me blush.gif

so what are u guys interested to bring in?

Do you all realized something from our community and why is it different from others?

In our community resellers are buying from each other instead of always importing stuff themselves. This not only boost the economy but also shows that we are not treating each other as competitors. Instead, we are something like helping each other.

Agree? smile.gif
*
i find my import stuff conflict wif a lot of sellers - hobbit, lotr, super heroes, star wars, etc. but so far, my best selling r base plates, friends, star wars. LOL

my incoming ironman sets not cheap. still hv to learn from Alby on how to reduce shipping cost sad.gif

my customer base actually likes plates, friends, bit of SW, city and creator (this one memang hard to earn man)

Ive never ordered LEGO from overseas before but some custom officer regard shipping cost as part of the RM 500 limit.

Meaning if my item is RM 400 but the shipping is RM 150, then most likely will be detained at LCCT POSLAJU office.

Even if the value is < RM500 but the box size is large, it will also get detained.

Custom will ask you to come to open (sometimes they themselves also open prior to your arrival) and tax accordingly.

If mixed toys, I can safely inform its for own use. If many duplicate items, it may be regard as for trading purposes. Tax rates differs and yes, it may lead to more paperwork hassle.
