I have read through our Malaysia detailer threads and detailien blogs, and I am decided to go with Makita 9227C with Optimum Wool Pad + OHC for compound Optimum Foam Pad + OHP for polish at an aim to remove the swirls caused by my improper washing method over a year ago. I started to change to proper washing method recently. now my question is, do I need a DA polisher with fine finishing pad to remove micro marring, scratches, holograms left from the rotary ? I think holograms gonna surface after the compounds, It is a black finish car This post has been edited by blueyan: Nov 16 2013, 11:40 AM

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Nov 17 2013, 11:02 AM) if you're good enough with the rotary, only need to change to finer/softer pads. depends on how deep the scratches are. if you're not confident, go with milder abrasives then increase it's aggressiveness if it does not work what are the finer/softer pads that you recommend to use with 9227C ? for finishing

is Makina 9227C a good investment in my case ? I have own my car for almost 2 years now, previously I am not into car detail so I washed with wrong method , causing heavy swirl around the car. There are some random light scratches as well. I want to try sealant but in order to do that, I need to polish/compound the car first, that is how 9227C come into my mind. But car detailing is just my weekend hobby, wont do that for part time.So I think I might be using makina 9227c once a year for necessary polishing/compound, as polishing/compound will removing clearcoat, thus it cant be used frequently, which mean most of the time it will rest in the closet, unused. Unless I can do this for waxing, because I will wax for every month. But 9227C is tad too strong for maxing that might cause marring ?? even using the finest finishing pad ??
