Personally, I like the LHR15 over the LHR21. I've tried both before deciding & the 21mm throw was too much for my liking/preference. Furthermore, I like using the smaller pads.

Yes you can get the extra LHR15 backing plate to use with smaller pads but, just FYI, the throw would still be 21mm.

There's one DIT (Do It Together) in the pipeline....trying to sort out the details. Stay tuned.

Thanks for the advice sifu KrisMas ! i think ill go with the LHR15 too because the other is quite big so hard to reach smaller or curvier places.

How far away roughly is the Do it Together? biggrin.gif

My plan is to do paint correction myself, apply Opticoat 2.0, and finally with Swissvax.
So really need to learn step by step and do it carefully. Youtube & google can only teach you that much, practical and hands on is more important i feel.

grats bro. so the 15 do come with white pads while 21 is green/yellow

Nope. The local distributor does not take in the bigfoot 15 and they have no intention too either. They only have 21 for sale I had no choice sad.gif

And no, the white pad have to buy seperately. As you mentioned it does only come with green and yellow pads and 2 compounds one fine one medium and a microfiber cloth.

Question Sifus : notworthy.gif
So what pads i need to buy other than the default Fine, Medium, Coarse Foam pads.

Is Cutting pad and polishing pad different? what materials are there?
Microfiber pad for glass polishing?

And what kind of compound or polishing liquid, finish liquid that i need? please include brand too thanks. notworthy.gif

Tried the rupes bigfoot yesterday on my old car's bonnet. Been very long since its cleaned.

Steps:
Washed> rinsed> clayed> washed> course compound with rupes 2passes > fine compound with rupes 2 passes > waxed.

There is this layer of craters or mini holes that I cannot even it out. Any sifu can advice on this what method to apply and what product to use? (Please refer to picture)

Repaint eh? Those would need sanding and leveling. Not sure whether it's safe unless you're willing to risk clear coat 'puncture' or strike through.
*
@KrisMas : No it is not a repaint job, just that the bonnet got damage through wear and tear due to year and years of negligence. Might be oxidation + other chemicals that caused this kind of surface result, because other parts of the car body does not have such surface.

*ps (it is my GF's car that never got properly maintained like throughout 10 years, thought of detailing it to be my first test subject haha)

@acefreakz : no it is the legendary "IGNORED paint job"

Look like very poor putty job.  I will not take risk to sand it at all...pretty confident the defect at putty level.

@g88 : Sorry but what does "putty" means? im new to this. blush.gif
