my front tires are caked to all kinds of hell after some aggressive driving, touge runs etc to run/break in the brand new tires. temperatures had gone through over 300 celcius (AT LEAST 100-200 + on the wheels) for the rotors multiple times and tire pressure from default 32 after run it can go as high as 40 due to heat expansion.

now, i wonder if ULW still exist on those rims i worked so hard on laugh.gif

If I may add, I  tried a clay block that I bought from Singapore and it works rather well and very little marring if any. Am I allowed to share the seller's name here? Haha

Ah cool, I have the green light to say 'Shinecars' from Singapore.
They sell clay cloth too, check with them regarding marring. If the surface of the clay cloth is the same as the clay block, that's quite good.

@Grexer, yes sir. Clay with sponge backing. I think the clay surface is made from polymerized rubber.

@Quazacolt, do you have deironizing product to try? Make those rims bleed! Haha! Oh and the Sustina is good stuff, maybe because I am using 0-20 smile.gif
*
eh krismas exposed shinecars on last thread or damn early pages on this thread laugh.gif

i got sonax extreme wheel cleaner plus + megs wheel brightener. effortless wheel cleaning. but i wanna see if JUST the PW is enough since it has(or had, lol) megs ULW on.

where you got the sustina btw? singapore? msia selling over 300+
tried other EO besides eneos sustina?

Regarding Eneos oil, I bought from http://www.myoilstore.com/ . The seller is here on LYN forums too but I forgot his nick  doh.gif
If I remember correctly, I bought each 32oz for RM55 (maybe RM50?). Much cheaper than the retail price in MY.
You can ask Frankie (seller) if he has any oils not listed on his site haha! That's how I got to know he is selling Sustina smile.gif
*
dang, may want to try out motul if he carries them and cheaper than local pricing hehe. atm done trying torco, wanna move around on the rest biggrin.gif

eh wait, sustina for 200+ instead of the ~300 malaysian picing? wtf lol can consider trying too lol

With just car wash shampoo and sponge, it looks like Meguiar ultimate liquid wax is still there without streaking http://twitpic.com/d8wzb2

After dried and Meguiar endurance tire gel lol http://twitpic.com/d8x1r4

My new wheels haven't arrive yet (cuz I haven't bought them yet lorrr) so no wheel-coating yet for me until then (which won't be for some time... tongue.gif). But I *might* be re-doing the front bonnet or/and roof of my Chery very soon...the coming Malaysia Day holiday/weekend maybe...
*
okies, will be swapping out my current performance tires and cleaning them before i move them to storage. cleaning is easy as hell with the PW and ULW. don't even need sonax/megs WB (damn now they just sitting at home underutilized LOL!)

btw why need to re-do? effect lessened? how long was the duration when you last applied btw?

Normal la...me and all my 'tests'...and made worse by the recent haze a couple of months ago. Still beading but not sheeting as clean anymore - signs of embedded contaminant/etchings. Applied it end of last year and had gone through around 35k~40k on the odo. Vertical panels still beading and sheeting brilliantly though. Getting a little bored with 'just washing' anyway.... sweat.gif

by re-applying, basically total strip via ipa or something? or just layer on top of the previous coating?

Polish it off and re-apply. Already tried chemically last weekend but no go.....
*
id assume you can't 100% polish it off right? or you'd probably risk thinning your clear coat, more of like having a damn pretty/glossy coat finish, and then layer upon another new one... something like that? (would the new coating adhere properly?)

or, you'd actually 100% remove it (risking your clear coat)?

Totally remove with a medium polish. My prev experience with this coating (don't ask), finishing polish can hardly touch it. No worries on the clear coat since I haven't done any compounding yet. Even if i punch through the coating, using a mild polish won't remove much CC...hardly a 'big' risk.

Hehe...22ple la. Fxxx-up on my 1st try. Left it for too long before wiping/buffing and couldn't get it to level up. Looked something like applying laquer with a brush. Can't remember exactly which one I tried, but a finishing polish with a rotary can't even level the 'peaks'. Had to resort to using a medium polish (Menzerna 203S) with a polishing pad to totally remove it and re-apply. Even with that, it needed 2~3 passes. 2 1/2 hrs spent just on the rear bootlid of my waja that day to get things right.

ah damn now you're scaring me... i foresee myself easily f***ing this up icon_question.gif

Actually...it's not that easy to f***up with 22ple. It's just that I was so used to the other coatings and their application methods that I thought it's the same. Turned out I was over-worried and under-rated how STUPIDLY EASY the application was supposed to be with it. So far, it's the only coating that I had experienced with that I could safely say that even somebody with NO experience with any coating would be able to apply it after a *very* brief guidance. I'm only saying this based on my limited experience...and I haven't tried the more recent coating that also boast ease of application like those from ArtDeShine, Ceramic Pro, Gyeon, etc.

still hard to say until we actually done it.

"spray painting is easy they say"
look at my door handles now oTL

Thanks alot bro. Looks like this brand is not very popular.  I tried it on my solid paint white and it looks good. I mean it can get rid of some of the tough dirt that normal washing cannot. That's y I am worried that it is a polish and cannot do so frequent. Actually me noob in car detailing.
*
soft99 is actually quite popular and it's been licensed for local manufacturing hence the damn cheap price (compared to turtle wax/mothers anyways)

for AIO/damn mild polishes, it's not much harm (if any) for more frequent usages smile.gif

Bro kindly advice what other brand that u recommend? Also can explain a bit the difference Between waxing and polishing? From what I know is waxing can be done frequently but polishing only once a year right? And if I were to polish the steps should be

1. Wash
2. Polish
3. Wax

Also is it better to buy separate wax n polish or like the luster wax all in 1? Pls recommend brand for wax and polish.

Thanks a lot sifus.
*
can look around this thread for brands.

wax = last step protection
polish = correction/surface cleaning
polishing is done whenever you want to do correction, which is rarely needed if your LSP is in good condition/well maintained.
and yes, polishing (especially compounding) will diminish your clear coat.

steps would be (if you want to polish):
1) wash
2) clay
3) polish
4) wax

claying is a must to properly remove contaminants and ensure better polishing and ultimately better wax longevity.

hi guys should we use clay bar with water wiping entire car then only apply spray wax or we can directly use clay bar with spray wax wiping entire car?
*
use clay bar with clay lube or car shampoo.

and do NOT use clay bar with wax, it's a waste.
