The past few post is damn too technical for me 

Anyway as a newbie with RM2K giant bike (with my color choice) XS size frame 29er, i have some experience to share:

I went kiara for the 2nd time last 2 weeks and has a bad fall when cornering. My lower ribs hantam on a tree branch and it hurts as hell. The reason of the fall is my foot on the pedal made contact with the front wheel... XS frame with 29er.. you can imagine that.

Another advise for other newbies it to wear glove and knee/elbow guard. You might look like a pro wannabe but better to protect your flesh. And with those deore, xtr, carbon, alu spec, why the fuss? As a newbie.. just enjoy the ride...

Just ride more and the bruises will go away. If we shred hard, we will reek in the results. I used to not be able to whip, now i can but after many many falls, injuries and feeling like giving up. Thinking that why i cant is all me. Steve peat's crew can wreck a skatepark on cruiser bikes with baskets and i cant even do a flat table. Sometimes, not being able to do it frustrates the hell out of me. And i try my best not to blame my bike. Sometimes, hardwork will turn talentless wannabees to dirtmongers right?

Getting a puncture has nothing to do with tube or tubeless unless you are talking about "snake" bites. Would usually get more punctures if you run lower pressure - easier for thorns,etc to stick on a low pressure tire vs a higher pressure tire.

anyone here using SRAM gear set. Are they good?

the theory is like that, the bicycle owner will recommend whatever he has only. sram x5 or shimano deore is good enough liao.
