okay, ive got some question for u all sifus here...
im using shimano deore 2012 crankset which im quite sure d bb size is 51mm (since it says SM-BB-51 on d bb)...so, im planning to change to dis frame which has euro73mm bb size...i doubt it will fit, so dat mean i have to buy new BB n use d same crank or buy a new crankset with new BB? |

QUOTE(ahmeduk88 @ Nov 4 2013, 10:06 AM) I think you may get the size confused. It is nit bb51. It is 68/73mm and compatible with both 68/73 mm bb frames. You wont have the problem. You can measure it on the frame to make sure though. thx for answering, n 1 more thing, im using 9mm quick release for my rear wheelset n i wan to change to new wheelset but have 135mm quick release on it....why so big d difference between d two of em? please enlighten me |

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Nov 4 2013, 01:26 PM) owh, thanks for d infoQUOTE(eohl79 @ Nov 4 2013, 01:26 PM) Er... I'm not a big techie on BB but I think your SM-BB-51 is a model for Deore Bottom bracket and not some 51mm size. 68 or 73mm refers to the width of the BB shell on the frame. That Deore BB outboard bearing interface uses English threading. Not sure what Euro threading means... clarify with the frame manufacturer first. Not sure if Shimano has a BB threading to fit it. Check with bike shop. yeah, will do..need confirmation first on d threading rite?Problem Solvers - BB Standards Guide Shimano BB techdoc QUOTE(Cyphereza @ Nov 4 2013, 01:39 PM) really? my frame i think using 9mm qr on d rear |

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Nov 12 2013, 04:27 PM) well u can keep using it, n see if the mechanic/cyphereza is right. i hope it doesnt affect anything before my budget is enuff for new parts the bearing is already damaged, just that it hasn't caused major failure yet. change it now before it affects other parts QUOTE(dickybird @ Nov 12 2013, 05:35 PM) saving up some money now to bling it up later |

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Nov 12 2013, 09:31 PM) so far in pharmacies, i could only find methyl spirit. not recommended. best is to use isopropyl alchohol (rubbing alcohol). not sure if u can find it in the pharmacies. that's what i'm using now. im using sunlight lol..dish washing soap http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/me...-or-isopropanol or u can use the brake cleaner like cyphereza suggests btw, do u wash ur bike with car shampoo or the likes? |

QUOTE(Cyphereza @ Nov 12 2013, 09:26 PM) Bro, easier to just grab a can of Brakleen with Jet muzzle at Ace Hardware. Just spray the rotors and pads, and then leave it to dry. Don't need to wipe. demmit...i cud not find dis disc brake cleaner anywhere...go hardware store n car service/accessories shop also dont have.. Costs around RM11 IINM. |
