Let's start one in Bkt Jelutong leading into bukit Cahaya... It will be fun.

But seriously... I donno how to start. Coz the last one I tried to do with another fella... we ended up built only a berm and we got totalled... Exhausted like cork.
*
totalled how? Well, its a lot of work though. Start building a few sections first. Bukit Cahaya? How far do you want to build the trail? What sort of trail? And got permission to build? Care to share ur plan route. Sorry but im bad with directions. LOL!

And trail building is fun. No kidding.

Well, i think you are better with the polygon. Sam Reynolds ride a polygon. Other than that you get the XCR forks. Good i tell you. Other than that is quite entry level and will serve well until its broken or you upgrade. Its got hydroformed tubes which looks good (to me) and a shorter chainstay (from pictures off the googre). Good for practicing manuals and whipping when you jump. Slacker TT as well. To me, i would choose the polygon.

Even though its entry level but things might be different and maybe he can get a good deal.

As for entry level bikes, since the drive train are all pretty much the same, get a better frame and fork. XCR is good. Not as good as fox float but serves the purpose. Softer than XCT for sure (since i have used both and currently using XCR).

I am riding a below 2k entry level bike and i am so happy with my purchase. And i think its nice helping people pick budget, bargains and good bikes that they will enjoy.
