I am a graduated 2012 SPM student and now i am currently waiting for my SPM results, I am very interested in physics, i would like to know the information about the Mechanical engineering courses and which college is the best for this course, my dad courage me to UTAR or TARC because most of my relative was study at there and some are already graduated, they say UTAR is a good choice as many company acknowledge the UTAR cert as well as TARC cert, and yes my family is not very rich, thats why I am not going to those expensive collge such as sunway and taylor, but I think there are other way for me to go to a better college, i heard that NUS at singapore is very famous in engineering and we can sign up a contract with singapore goverment, but the condition is we have to work at sing for 3 years and they will discount our fees up to 75 percent! i am still struggling which college i should get in, i want to go for a better college, is there another way for me? loan or scholarship? which college is better?
Help me THX! I wan a brighter future! |

Bro relax...You sound like you dont wanna enter TARC or UTAR? they are good collge/uni too...they standard now international...specificly in engineering UTAR is the best...no nit to go NUS all..just stay with family and go to UTAR or TARC. Help me THX! I wan a brighter future! Tarc diploma very cheap oni 10k....take PTPN loan...if you get good results in SPM you will get discout. |

Why don't you try upu/local IPTA? It's cheaper than tarc/utar but the cons is that you may live far away from home, depending on where they put you in.

I searched thru LYN and seriously i still cant make up my mind about the courses to choose...i am the one who not really said to be interested in 3 science subject because they are all like the same to me...Let's start from Biology - memorize thingy euuu.. Physics - Formula to memorize euuu.... and twisted question >_< Chemistry - Formula to memorize too .. euuu~ Quite numbers of names to remember yeah... not to forget also the experiment thingy~ haiz...my parent still encourage me to go to UTAR like my brother while wad problem i am facing is WHAT COURSE TO CHOOSE T_T~ |

UTAR is better in engineering than TARC.
And BEM recognized UTAR, but not TARC as not a engineering degree. TARC graduates need to take IEM exam to become BEM member. (Correct me if I'm wrong) |

Since Singapore is one of your destination, you should take STPM first. Use your STPM to apply for Singaporean universities as well as the public universities. I believe the better public universities (namely UM, USM, UTM, UPM) provide very good engineering degree. If you insist on private institutions, you should look for UTAR, UNITEN, UTP, MMU. There's no need to pay attention to the likes of KBU, KDU, Inti, Taylor's etc. etc. because there are just okay yet charge you for a ridiculous premium. Of course, if you have some ways to obtain scholarship for studying in Malaysia, Nottingham and Monash should always be your first choice.

If it's financial constraint, you can consider matriculation or Form 6. The NUS path may not be very feasible, factoring in the competition and their exchange rate.

You cannot do degree with SPM , unless you do 1 more year of pre-U ,or STPM or A level.Value for money in Malaysia is definitely UTAR ( do not go for TARC cause they only award diploma) On another subject, your result are not impressive. You do not have much choices or you might not really qualify for competitive course. It is only my opinion |

What is the different between advanced diploma and degree?
so UTAR and TARC, which 1 is better for mechanical engineering? TARC can get a degree by going oversea for 3 months, but UTAR can get a degree in our own country, both is ok for me , but for the quality of teacher and those facilities, which 1 is better? |

I am also planning to take up Engineering course but not sure which one to take. Currently considering MMU and UTAR. Anyone going to attend MMU Openday next week?http://foe.mmu.edu.my/v3/main/openday.html Ranking MMU http://www.topuniversities.com/node/9251/r...y-rankings/2012 UTAR http://www.topuniversities.com/node/4076/r...y-rankings/2012 |
