im not talking bout FREE or not.. ah never mind la..
*
i get your point. u don't want any bloat whatsoever. but think about this, there is NO OS that doesn't have a single bloat. don't be naive. it's how companies like google collect user data, it's how it earn profits. do u think google can give out free services without this? services like gmail and google maps isn't actually free, it's a barter system, u give them user data and they give u 'free' services. that's the way the world works, get used to it.

I have been using iPhone for about 5 years(iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS, 4). Nexus 4 is my first android phone. I was wondering if there is anyone else that made the leap?
*

Nah I mean hardcore iPhone users. The one's that used iPhone from 2008.
*
most of my friends started with the first gen until the 4s. if that's not called hardcore, i don't know what is....

once they tasted android, they won't turn back to iOS. even with the shitty touchpiss on the Note 1 with super lag, they still love it

there is only 1 guy i know of who bought a Note 1 a year ago told me it was too damn complicated and returned to iphone 4s, because he used it for only a week, no surprise, he's a simpleton

Unexpected to meet another fellow MMU-ian here XD
Nexus devices are among the lowest I guess in Malaysia though, you can see how Galaxy Nexus wasn't very well received here too
*
compared to the G-Nex, the N4 sales figure in Malaysia and response is considered 'overwhelming' already.

Have to educate them XD

You have to give credit to the pricing also laugh.gif N4 is really cheap! Sadly Malaysians tend to buy phones for thebrand, so of course iPhong and Samsung got more sales despite its prices...
*
yup. my sis was wondering what phone to buy early last year when her HTC Wildfire broke, her options were very few (S2 and some other phone I forgot) and she didn't even know the existence of G-nex, I recommended her and now she's a fan. same with my brother when the G-nex launched. weirdly I'm not using any Nexus devices at the time, still using the DHD. Now all my family members uses Nexus.

Hi guys,

Wanna ask a few Question.

1. Do you guys use any other launcher or just stock?

2. Is there any other music player that show your music folder? Nexus 4 music player doesn't show music folder. Im used to the samsung music player which u wan view your music folder.
*
1. i'm using Nova launcher pro (paid version) which is worth every penny.

2. Use Mort Player (free) or PowerAmp (paid)

QUOTE(lyrilmaki @ Mar 5 2013, 02:37 AM)
so Nexus 4 is using micro sim? Where can I cut my sim card into micro 1?
*
yes, micro sim. any handphone shop also provides this service with a fee. if u want free service, go to Digi and tell them you bought the Nexus from Digi and let them cut your sim, most of them will do it for u (free) even if u use other telco's sim

After experiment I found out that all those apps like touch control and proximity sensor drain batter like no tomorrow.  Looks like I'll be using back power button from now. Hopefully it doesn't wear out and can last
*
try AUTO SCREEN ON. it has pause function so u can set time for the sensor to pause, and it has night function also so when u r sleeping, the sensor will be off.

using sensor to switch on screen will always drain battery.

Galaxy nexus color looks very fake,i don't know why,but i feel nexus 7 color is more natural than nexus 4 and galaxy nexus
*
it's a very personal preference, some ppl prefer the over saturated color in SAMOLED, some like me love the natural colors in LG's screen (always have).

For major versions, there will usually be a new Nexus device. Like Galaxy Nexus was introduced for Android 4.0. However legacy devices will continue to get updates for at least 1-2 iterations. Nexus S got updates till 4.1 before it got killed off.

Nexus 4 is already 5 months since release. Given the IO at May, that would make it 7 month old, ready for a successor soon enough.
*
probably will follow the tradition of releasing the new nexus phone in Sept / Oct this year.

The thing is, im not entirely sure if I should go for this? From multiple online reviews, two things that plagued Nexus 4 is, the battery life and the "not so impressive" camera. What do you guys feel about this two issue?
I am quite a heavy user by default. Fully charged at 6am in the morning, i'd browse, check mails.. apps, games, a bit.. arrived in office, more browsing, rss reading.. and Usually old S2, would be left with 40 or 50% by after lunch.
*
for us hardcore android users, this is the only phone that can be considered as an android phone, also applies to a tablet, the Nexus brand = android OS

fyi, battery life isn't as bad as those reviews (most of them probably based on older version e.g. 4.2.1). After update to 4.2.2 the battery life is significantly improved, u can easily get through 1 day (20 hours) of usage if u use it like u said. if u use battery saving app (i'm using Internet Commander Pro) probably can last for 30 hours straight without any gaming. My max battery life without any charging is 50 hours (of course those 2 days are very bz so not much chance to use the phone).

about the camera, it's also not as bad as the reviews said. it's exactly average in my opinion. if u like HDR mode, it is quite good and can capture some amazing pictures, again, i will show off one of the pics I took in low light, sun rise condition:

those ppl who said the camera is bad obviously doesn't know how to take pics properly.

I understand the camera, its not bad, but its not good as well, the auto focus cannot focus properly sometimes, and i tried to compare xperia s,huawei ascend d1 quad, and nexus 4 at same time,in these 3,nexus 4 cannot take far range clearly unlike xperia s and huawei ascend d1 quad, and the battery i have no complain, but the temperature i once reached 50celsius which is extremely high(my rest phone maximum is 42celsius no matter how long i use)
*
that's y we have 3rd party camera apps like camera zoom fx especially for close ups. i don't care about temperature btw, don't even have anything to monitor that, just use it as it is, if the phone is too hot, just let it rest for some time.

even that app failed to zoom in to my finger, and high temperature shorten battery life, that's what rumor said
*
i don't know how much u want to zoom / focus in, if too close of course cannot, the image sensor has it's limits. high temp of course will shorten battery life, like all electronic devices, but it's also not a problem because u r using it to the max anyway, and need to charge it up eventually, so no point in worrying about battery life.
