haiz... i feel like selling my nexus 4. this is my first vanilla android experience and im not too happy with it.
just when i thought battery is fine last night it drain 7% on 6 hours sleep. now have to keep observing which apps that cause it or is it android JB itself. when i first got the phone i find that i had to find some productivity apps myself. there was no memo, no sound recording apps, and i had to search for a better calendar coz google calendar lacks so much things. then i use this profile manager on my old gingerbread, too bad it does not work on JB. finding another profile manager to work with JB was a pain in the ass. i know this is the dev problem for not updating their apps but i also see this is the bad thing that we have so many android version. like out of 10 profile manager apps, only 1 or 2 works for JB . google made OTA update so troublesome (cannot remove any system app, cannot modify battery icon, etc..) im not trying to say vanilla android is bad or something, but sometimes i think that it should include a few basic necessary apps. pre-install google apps like google earth and all does not make it pure vanilla android either (kinda like, u said its pure android but u include ur own company apps) getting fast update is probably the only good thing abut vanilla android This post has been edited by annoymous1234: Feb 27 2013, 02:52 PM |

Dear sifus, is there any other option to wake the phone without using the power button?
I am afraid the power button might not be durable enough for long-term use.. |

QUOTE(suadrif @ Feb 27 2013, 02:29 PM) i know its by google. but that does not means they should include their own made apps. obviously i can see they want to do advertising by giving ppl to use their own apps, but still.... to me la. we buy pure android because other manufacturer like samsung include their own bloatware, and its like some sort of the same thing in here |

QUOTE(PrincipaliteY @ Feb 27 2013, 02:28 PM) Dear sifus, is there any other option to wake the phone without using the power button? You need to be rooted and installed custom kernel with touch2wake for this. Not sure whether is there anything else out there. QUOTE(azrash @ Feb 27 2013, 12:24 AM) the built in battery info/stats/graph is a bit buggy in my experience.which is why i prefer to use BBS's 'Other' stats. it'll generate a fresh stats every time, and i use the 'since unplugged' to 'current' stats, so the SOT info would be accurate. do note that we need the latest BBS RC for it to work on 4.2.2. btw, did my suggestion of flashing the full factory image helped with the battery life? which rev are you on? QUOTE(devinz @ Feb 27 2013, 12:49 AM) Not mistaken I am on revision 10 bro. At last manage to figure out flash factory image using Nexus Root Toolkit. Had a good cleansing and removing all the apps altogether. Shall see of the xda advice is myths or truth...Wanted to try your suggestion but am totally noon and couldn't understand how do I flash factory image. Also I will lose all my data includes SMS, and setting as well right? Although from xda posting it does seems more like a myth...but heck..testing from clean phone now without any battery saving apps.... |

Why just I install my own favourite browser by my own like firefox or chrome? Same case even pure android still have those build-in apps. |
