Well, came back to play after hearing about act 4. But nah, don't have beta key myself.

I don't think this part of the forum is active though. Sadly this game isn't very popular here, dunno about your town but mine here likely no one know if I mention this game... =/

Oh BTW, noob reporting in...

Yea sadly this isn't a very well known game over here. Weird... maybe most people still just prefer team-PvP stuff over PvE...

The gateway aren't region-lock sort of stuff, it is just a node to help players get low ping. So in case of, let say SG gateway down, you can still select any other gateway to play on and you'll have the exact same character and stuff.

I'm playing on Warband, Arisa, lv65 something now. Slow as hell, those no-lifers can do that in what... 1... 2 hours? I have no idea how to level that fast...

Damn nerf + Perandus league a lot of stuff price tank really hard.
On one hand it's great we can buy previously hyper expensive stuff with ease, on the other hand it's harder to make profit from certain stuff any more...
Really have to check POE.trade before buying stuff from Carido -.- Damn got a Mjolner bad deal, didn't realize it tank to 30 chaos+-...

Long time havent play. Last I play when they change the reduce mana gem.
Got new ppl start playing? I want join grind.

There are still plenty people playing through Sg gateway, though as of right now it is late into Prophecy league (and a rather boring one I might say), there aren't exactly nearly as much player as when a fresh league start. Plus the gateway is kinda... wonky, since Perandus...

Though the medallion race might get some people back to play but I'm not interested in it yawn.gif (really burn-out once you played too many character for the pass few leagues). Personally will start again later next league - Atlas of World.

There still much times to rush the challenge for MTX (cash shop) reward items, as usual /global 820 is your best bet to find challenge related request / sharing.

Reduced Mana is almost a complete worthless gem after the changes. If you want to reduce aura/curse mana reserve you have to use Enlighten which is way harder to level.

Btw don't forget to use a loot filter. thumbsup.gif
Filter editor - https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/commen..._of_exile_item/
I have one designed myself but it is made for 40" screen...

So I should just stick to standard until the next league?
thanks for loot filter, didnt know about that.

It's encouraged to play in temporary league anyway, there are league specific items you can acquire - for Prophecy they are from the Pale Court (acquire 4x key from prophecy chain quests) - they drop highly valuable items. But this is more to end game anyway, if your character build isn't good enough you'll likely having problem with it. Otherwise the key pieces can also sell for about 60 Chaos per set. Also do the challenges for rewards, or simply grind the prophecy and keep praying to the RNG God for exotic "quest"... (eg: chance an item to unique with one chance orb = use it on Sorcerer Boot = RICH!!!)

At the end of this temp league, all item and character will move back to Standard nevertheless. If you already have setup in Standard and do not care about the league challenges or the prophecy mechanic, then Standard is fine.

-------------------------------------------------------------

I make a bit of text size adjustment for my filter to use for normal screen, hopefully not too small. Otherwise open it with notepad and find/replace the following with bigger font: SetFontSize 28 / SetFontSize 32 / SetFontSize 38
In compare with other popular filters out there that have THOUSANDS of lines of codes with so many colours you barely able to remember half of them... mine is short and concise. whistling.gif

i look at the challenge needed to get all the rewards and goes like 'i cant do all this shit'
so i prematurely stop playing the league. and i not even done the first delve quest lol

24 is reasonable achievable without doing much of those delve specific challenges. But if aiming for 36...……………….. gud luck ah. sweat.gif

can't seem to sustain maps at all.

It's a common problem for everyone this league. There can be 2 possible causes:
- map drop ninja nerfed
- don't have enough mob count to roll the dice more - you can only acquire map in Delve via city room, random drop is almost non existence

…

I was trying out summoner build. It works fine alright, is Shaper Guardian viable but I stopped right there. Have 3 sets of Shaper key but didn't try.
Save it for later if I have the mood to play.
There are different kind of summoner build I tried:
- skeleton which is more boss-zerg-able but slower clear speed,
- that forgot what name new unique staff that summon specter on consume corpse - this is faster for clear speed but feels extremely terrible for Shaper Guardian, other map bosses are fine.

...

// shit I posted with wrong LYN account -.-

Definitely not my cup of kopi-o.
I do started to question the rationality of temp league though, as we getting more and more core contents...

- grind master from scratch
- grind atlas from scratch
- now... grind delve from scratch

rclxub.gif

Crafting mechanism that span:

- typical orb crafting
- master crafting
- temple crafting
- bestiary crafting? hmm.gif wonder if this making come back in the future, the system itself was pretty good actually
- now... delve crafting (OMG INVENTORY HOG ZZZ)

The complexity is now going to a point I feels temp league doesn't make sense for my well-being.
Before I reach the last boss I already become charcoal liao… shakehead.gif

1, is this game has high learning curve?.
2, too much grinding or not?.
3, can play solo without friend?
*
1, extremely
bookmark the wiki, forum, and various tools & reference sites
POE main website also link to your account (everything from inventory to passive tree), you can use it to do planning and stuff
or you can opt for community made tools like Path of Building which is more extensive. Other tools like Trade Macro also great for QoL & learning purpose (eg: price prediction).

2, the company is called Grinding Gear Games... laugh.gif
But due to the dynamic generated map, you won't feel too much of repetitive like 99.999% of static-MMORPG does.
If you start to feel very dreadful clearing area, that means your character is "FAIL".
In this game which you are not given any handholding, you need to accept that failure is a common outcome.
The general layout/direction of any specific area will always be the same of course, just there will be various variable involved.
Eg: mods (properties) that change monster type, behavior, etc. Random spawn of additional contents, etc.

3, yea, it is largely a solo game anyway.
But if you find something too difficult always can call up someone for help as long as you're not choose to play SSF (solo-self-found).
If not play in SSF can trade for easier item management. Trading is a bit of.... learning of it self. Look up guide how to do so.

GGG making more PAY leagues with MORE insane difficulties for your PAYED leagues. Gila punya game company. Can switch to other game soon haha

Think of it as private server rental. Or rather, that's exactly what it actually is laugh.gif
A pretty common thing for multiplayer game.

This is definitely catering for specific group of people that wanting such service option.
Eg: streamer race challenge

How do I prevent creating fail character? What are the guidelines to prevent this from happening?
*
There is no golden-rule or anything, just few very basic thing that everyone should do, like max resist and have proper flasks.
Fail or not really just depend on how you measure it.
- if you say "if can't kill last boss then it's fail", then there are SHIT TONS of fail char around...
- fail cuz "this char can't generate income!!" ?
- fail cuz "this char can't even reach Tier-X map!"
- fail cuz "died 50 times to act-10 boss!"
- fail cuz "I not having fun playing it!" ... Etc...

But generally, the most common "fail" that people will agree with, is "clear map too slow" (kill trash monster too slow).
If you found yourself in this problem, study around see how you can fix it.
The most obvious answer is "get more damage!", but trying to get more damage do involve a lot of understanding the game mechanic, the items, the passive tree, etc.
It is often caught in such situation when you compare your char with other people's build: "how can this guy make his skill 999million damage when I can only do 999???".

Had a feeling this is Synthesis 2.0 and it won't go core biggrin.gif
Mechanism that needs planning instead of straight up monster slaughtering usually isn't that well received...

why not? literally expansion every 3 months non stop since 2013.
Sequel (technically an expansion) coming in about a year.
Also went to China via Tencent (luckily separated server).

The Diablo out of season April fool joke also helps a lot. Thanks Blizzard.
Aside from GrimDawn & Diablo, this is the other ARPG in the top 3 list and is always recommended whenever anyone asked for APRG.

Wolcen? Well... that one was... a bit of a disaster.

Yep never thought the game went this far.
Started the game during my college time now already work, the game still running. Still remember my spinning axe build
How is the graphics nowadays? Upgrade? If I start fresh, will I able to catch up?
*
graphic improvement is always happening bit by bit.
they added global illumination a while ago, making overall lighting better, but still, a bit of custom ReShade & screenspace RayTracing shader goes a long way as long as your machine can take the hit.
aside from tons of new areas, some areas are gradually getting make over, such as the starter town is already using the enhanced version that planned for POE2.0.
one of the big focus of POE2.0 definitely is graphical overhaul. Obviously all these takes it toll on performance. They are trying Vulkan support now, hopefully will make the game runs better in the future.
generally you won't see much problem when playing alone, it's only in party play (or you playing ridiculous meme builds) that the amount of effects can bog down the framerate.

in term of improvement that are actually so important we cannot live without : lockstep netcode & lootfilter.
rubber banding is almost not happening anymore with lockstep netcode, instead of the old predictive netcode.
lootfilter allows filtering out junk loots, it pretty much works like CSS web coding.

since everyone start fresh every 3 months on a new league, there no such things of unable to catch up.
of course, the only issue for returning / new player is - YOU GOT SHITS TONS TO LEARN biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
if your last played is before the existence of Act10... well, pretty much just treat this as a completely new game.
the end game mapping mechanism had been changed 3 times since then...

frankly I played for 7 years and still don't understand shit.
I didn't even kill uber elder, let alone the current one.
Just not interested / invested to do that part of the game tbh...

Well, the current challenge reward seems neat. Maybe will play a bit.
The crafting system in previous league was nice but I kinda fell off the mood a bit and didn't even finish 12 challenges... =S

Didn't aware about the re-download part, will take a while. Will start later afternoon.
The whatever black hole spell seems interesting, even if not using for dps I think it will be amazing for utility.

SCREW GGG 10 SEC COOLDOWN WHAT THE... my dream has shattered.
