Hi,

Been a proud owner of PFI for a week. So far so good except for a few issues I that I can still live with it.

Does anyone here know how to move an app to the "Pad Only" tab? I read from some posts that you just drag the icon to the tab but when I hold onto an app it just went back to the home screen for me to place and don't have an area on the top for me to place on the "Pad only".

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

I bought from Directd, located at Subang. They should have all the stock you want.

They setup a lot of garage sales section such as Directd's Asus Store. Their phone and address is also there should you wish to contact or visit them. Please search for "directd" in the garage sales section.

They also have the PFI listed at lelong.com.my.

Best of luck.

After some more random attempt, it seems like PFI only allow certain apps to be marked as "Pad Only" hence I could not find the "Pad Only" section on the top right corner to drag the app icon to. Will contact Asus support when I got the time to see what they have to explain.

After 2 weeks of casual use, I would like to share my personal thoughts on PFI.

Build quality
The build quality is good, I like the aluminium build on the phone. No complain on the station too, but it could be better for the price I paid. The aluminium joints does not fit as perfectly as my bro's iPhone 4/4S. You can see more apparent gap and you can feel the joint with your finger.

When you press firmly on the top right corner, you can hear and feel creaking. This both "reduce" the premium feel I have when I compare to my bro's dated iPhone 4/4S.

Display
I only have my Samsung Galaxy Note 1 and HTC One X that I previously owned to compare with. Probably it's due to the 1080p display, I feel that the display is way better that HOX. Don't get me wrong, I also like the HOX's display. The brightness is also ways higher HOX. I don't like very bright screens, while I have my HOX brightness in between 20% - 30% in most indoor situations, I have my PFI in between 0% - 20%.

I used to use my SGN1 most of the time because of the larger screen and much much better battery life compared to HOX. Now I think PFI blows these 2 away.

Battery life
I'd say I'm between casual and power user (e.g. web browsing, Flipboard, YouTube, rarely on games). I'd say 2,400mAh is still good. With SGN1 I usually had around 50% juice at around 10:00 p.m. With HOX 15% at 10:00 p.m. (Only pick up a less than 5 phone calls and nothing else) to the need to charge as early as 5:00 p.m. (with casual use).

With PFI I still have around 40% at 10:00 p.m. with casual use, possible to get 60% balance.

-----

I have 2 main issues with PFI.

1st is YouTube. When you have it in landscape view, you will get the bottom 1/4 of the screen black whenever you return back to the video listing. The contents are still there, just that it's been censored by a black strip. This affects my viewing experience and forces me to use YouTube in portrait view. I've seen this case reported in Google YouTube forum from a PadFone 1 user with no solution or fix posted.

2nd is the WiFi receive signal when PFI phone is docked to the station. With the station not docked I can still somewhat open web pages in my room or behind the house in the kitchen. Once you dock it, you are forced to H/H+ signal. This is also a issue commonly reported by other users. Even with the station docked, the reception is not stable. I can even stream YouTube from my SGN1 and HOX is these locations. Will contact Asus when I got the time to ask for explanation.

Update 2013/10/14 : PFI Station WiFi Fix
After a few days of testing, I can confirm that PFI station WiFi issue has been fixed.

Solution : I've noticed that the pin on one of the two connector rods beside the mini USB on the PFI station is bent after my purchase but did not bothered with it since I can dock the phone fine. Later on I recalled that someone mentioned somewhere that the station has its own antenna so I used a needle to align the middle pin back to the middle of the rode. And the conclusion... Now the WiFi reception is pretty good, no different than when the phone is not docked.

-----

Overall I'm still satisfied with my purchase. Hope this will help those who are considering to purchase PFI.
