Could someone post a screenshot of opened Powerpoint/Word and PDF docs on their Lumia 920? The free office apps compatibility is what really makes me wanna get one. It would be really useful for my class notes and all drool.gif

There was a youtube video on applying that heat sink thing or whatever to overcome the heat problems. Anyone know where to purchase that kind of thing? I mean the only thing stopping me from getting a lumia is the excessive overheating issues right now. I don't want my first smartphone to be crap.

Totally staged interview. The other guy isn't really a reporter/talk show host but he's the equivalent of their "Donald Trump" since he's a big business mogul.

________

Did the old dudes with massive battery drain problems ever get that solved/fixed? I remember reading a lot of those posts in the other threads and I can't recall who was complaining about it. Did removing the old w7 legacy apps fix the problem or is it a hardware/software issue? Right now I've got a choice between an iphone 5 and a lumia 920; android isn't even under consideration.

my problem is usually the phone does not response after i leave the phone for a long time. then i need to do hard reset to restart the phone. software issue i guess.
*
That's kind of ironic since the L920 on display at the Nokia place I went to had an unresponsive touchscreen (the 3 main buttons could use lah but swiping and tapping didn't work for some reason). I didn't want to mess around with restarting it or anything since the dudes there would try to pin the blame on me instead of their faulty product. The L820 worked just fine but the camera is kinda....meh. It's sad that the L920 is still RM1999 vs the RM1399 L820. Pay a bit more can get ipong5 ody -.-'

Guys... FYI.

My Lumia 920 was stolen on 15th March. I have reported to Nokia to block the IMEI in case anyone tries to claim for warranty or anything like that.

Most distinct about my stolen phone is that, its GREY. I mentioned and posted picture of my phone before here if some of you might recall.

I changed my housing to GREY at Amcorp Mall. I am not sure how many of you have done so, but i guess im may be the only one at the moment. If you notice anywhere selling second hand GREY Lumia 920, kindly let me know please.

Also my phone has GREY Rock Case with it.There is a particular tiny scratch mark at the edge on the top front if you want to be sure.

Thank you. My first time ever loosing a phone in my life. sad.gif What an experience.

Sorry to hear about that bro. Well if it's still connected to dropbox/skydrive or whatever you could just wait for the self-shots to pop up. Malaysian thieves have l33t photography skills. sweat.gif

It's gotta be with a card from a bank that lets you buy stuff online. Afaik dogshit Maybank debit VISA got problem with that. Call customer service they also dunno what paypal is. So useless bolehland support. I use CIMB's prepaid mastercard for online transactions through Steam/Blizzard/Amazon.

It'll help you out with the notifications later on. I've got a bunch of apps bookmarked since I'm still on the fence regarding which phone to get, ipong or lumia -.-

That's why Nokia's quality and service is going to hell. They don't bother to train their staff and they hire any old stray dog off of the streets. Your average Nokia enthusiast knows more about their products than their salespeople do.

I think the display is important as well.
If Nokia not going for 1080p for the flagship this year then it is killing itself, although it depends on MS also.
Not because of the usefulness of FHD, but because of the trend.
Nowadays consumers care more about spec on paper, not practical function...  sweat.gif

It's not only the specs or user experience per se. You also need to splurge a cool billion+ on marketing like Samsung and Apple.

Unless they solve the Lumia overheating issue, an aluminium Lumia would be a really bad idea imo O_o

Hmm. I wish Nokia use some sort of metal and use back the design. Imagine aluminum Lumia 920  drool.gif

That's what he said...the Lumia 928 is the same version as the Lumia 920 but with a different design because the carriers use different bands so they need to use different radios (internals) for their phones in order to sell them on all the US networks (AT&T, Verizon, Spring, T-mobile...etc). It's not like Malaysia where every carrier uses a "standardized band". That's why there are Lumia 820s and 822s with slightly different designs.

So much for the Aluminium Lumia 928. They're probably saving that for the next iteration of the Lumia 9XX. I just heard that the Lumia 920 is only RM1699 in JB (Jusco Bukit Indah), can anyone confirm?

iPhones are probably the only (perceived) premium smartphones on the market. The other companies suck at managing consumer perception when all they do is release flagship phone after phone, which in turn results in consumer confusion and a perceived lack of value when the RM2000+ phone you bought 6 months ago from a company (Nokia/Samsung/HTC..whoever) now has a new and better version. A lot of non-Apple users get pissed off at the random release cycle but Samsung is slowly learning and is copying Apple's style.

Did you exit from your apps? Sometimes they run in the background if you don't close them. Press and hold the back button for a bit to see what background apps you have opened.

Yeah if you were following this thread you would have known as well. I pointed out the RM1699 price at some Nokia retailers last week. They dropped the price to compete with the Samsung Ativ S. They're probably going to drop even lower (~1200) once the new flagship comes out later this year. The Lumia 900 from barely a year ago is under RM1k brand new.

of course la, iphone 1 yr 1 model only thats why

Yeah Apple is the only smart one around. If you're an androidfag or wphonefag you'd still admit that iphone got value one. If you try selling an iphone, you'd get at least half the original RRP back. Whereas for other brands, in one year the RRP drop in half, so your resale value is at least a quarter of the original RRP.

Eg:
Exhibit A
iPhone:
Brand New: 2k
One year later RRP still 2k. Can resell second-hand for 1k

Exhibit B:
Nokia, Samsung and everybody else:
Brand New: 2k
One year later RRP drop in half to 1k only. Resell value? Peanuts only. shocking.gif
