Windows Phone never had landscape mode for home screen one First time user? Only specific apps and pages inside settings can use landscape mode. Music Player also no landscape mode, but i raely use my phone in landscape mode except video and games. Reading webpage, the screen pixel density is good enough to read a webpage while in portrait mode.

Hey welcome! I'm also from using N9, heck I'm still using it. Hehe. If you want a phone that works & always lag free, which the N9 was not, then this phone should satisfy you. But if you're hoping to see tons of customization, hacks & ability to look under the hood, then this phone will NOT satisfy you.

I see. Weird, I have friends that complain a lot bout iOS notifications till they no longer rely on it. Maybe my friends had too many apps installed. Haha! Yeah I do tend to agree that in term of notifications, WP8 is currently the worst. I have a Nexus 7 also & that surely works better than my L920 in notifications.

Yes, Unification is pretty useless ATM, which is why we need to join in & push to get app devs to support it. But that won't happen if no one use it right?

Honestly most of the time the phone works pretty well with Whatsapp. But I think the issue only shows itself when I'm constantly in an area with low network signal. This is where I noticed I get most of my lockups. But the battery drain is definitely a Whatsapp issue. I've tried running a day with Whatsapp uninstalled, using Viber instead & yes, there's a noticable improvement in battery life.

I have a Nexus 7 too. It's much better and instant right Guess i'll wait for this Microsoft Blue. See what they have in store for us, if there is little, I might switch.

Not quite sure if I want it to be installed on my phone if I don't use it. I also heard the notification center they made misses some notification. Not quite sure though.

Never had an issue with Whatsapp battery drainage. My previous issue was with WP7 legacy apps where the phone keeps restarting. Removed all the legacy apps and the problem is pretty much solved until now.

when u guys say the notification on windows 8 is bad.. what sort of bad do u mean.. messages on whatsapp dont show on the live tiles?

1 thing I notice. Whatsapp will not notify if you are in the app itself and your phone is locked. But once you quit the app, notification will be there again.

No. At least no other OS does this weird thing.

I never miss WeChat notification so far, but Whatsapp sometime got. Both apps are not run under background.

maybe its WP8 only, android dont have such problem so far

Didn't miss any WeChat notification before but for some reason yesterday I miss one. Was quite an important as well.
This is why I ask you guys if there is any fix. It's been bothering me for quite a while. Been using it for 4 months now and I can't take it any longer lol

Whatsapp all the time got one. Use it all the time and kinda sad about it as well. Missing notification is not good...

Some blame for developer while others blame for WP. Perhaps both also got issue.

in between, I just found that sound quality of wechat VoIP seems better than Viber. I thought Viber is better and famous

Ermm the fix for the notification issue could only be fixed with the latest update which is Version 1232.5957.1308.00xx. Guess it's the OS after all...

Did you exit from your apps? Sometimes they run in the background if you don't close them. Press and hold the back button for a bit to see what background apps you have opened.
