I'm now on Orca Project 0227 ROM.

First thing that wowed me... The boot up speed.

Not sure is caused by new TWRP (didn't update since 2.3.2.1) or the ROM itself. Using the ROM with default kernel.

Then I explored the settings. This ROM implemented AOKP Settings and Xpose Settings (like PA per app settings).

On top of these settings, the dev added what's not there in AOKP Settings like lockscreen shortcut ring, DPI changer etc.

Battery life is also quite good for now with default kernel that comes with the ROM.

Let's see how it goes tomorrow brows.gif

Hmm Air Kernel seems to be ok with ARHD on my side.

Air kernel not official for 4.2.2 right?

Default kernel for orca seems to be fine. One problem with this kernel is cannot tweak colour doh.gif

So we can set a screen time out to max time? This is a great  feature for custom recovery.
*
A great feature for super amoled phone. It will time out no matter what you're doing. I tried backup, it'll auto screen off. Flash ROM+Gapps also will auto screen off. Quite useful!

I see. It will save more battery power when use custom recovery. So screen will wake up automatically when we finished do something in recovery or should manually wake up a phone?

This feature only available for samoled phone?
*
Actually it wasn't meant to save battery and it's available for all phone. We mentioned super amoled because super amoled screen has burn in problems. Making backup in twrp always put out phone in the same screen displaying same image for a prolong period of time. Having this feature will keep the screen off instead of displaying the same thing for a long period of time. Google "Super Amoled Burn In" then you'll know why we need this feature.

I use pay-per-use 5cents/MB not bad for whatsapp, FB, and Opera Mini.  blush.gif

If subscribe 50MB/day also won't finish one, unless you DL stuff and heavy browsing.  blink.gif

Got 1GB for RM38/month and 3GB for RM58/month not bad compared to other telco  hmm.gif
*
I think Umobile UMI18 is better. Anyway, just surveying... Tied to digi for another 9 months vmad.gif

Ask them check my coverage issue langsung tak peduli... someone will contact me within one week? I doubt that... Give them few more days. vmad.gif

I think they won't be able to contact me also if I'm at they school. Because thanks to them, there's almost no signal in the campus laugh.gif

Btw, my experience on Orca Project+Lean Kernel 6.8.1 not so bad. Flashed lean kernel ytd night. From full charge to 10%, 3hours 10mins screen on. Recharged to 84% now at 13%, 2hours screen on. Either data or wifi is on depends on where am I.

Only face small problem like... I can't set max frequency to 700MHz. It'll revert once I turn off and on the display (sleep and wake it up, not power off). No problem with 920 and other frequencies. Weird?

How is it cheaper? UMI18 just RM18 per month then got free mins and sms. Even after the given sms, it's charged 0.08/sms to other telco. I think this is quite good already considering that I won't get charged for exceeding 250MB laugh.gif

hmm..
0.05 sen per sms, 0.05 sen for 1mb data, 0.10 sen per min.
from 1st sim card arrived, 2$ preloaded.
load it 50$ and 1st reload bonus waived, so now got 102 credit, and won some reload contest got 10$..
now 112, very light usage, my credit will expire in june, without the need to top up.
and by june i top up 5$ then i get to enjoy several months of usage be4 expire again..

-therefore for people like me rarely call and always overseas, tunetalk is cheaper~~

just imagine me keeping my number for 1 yr, nid pay 18$ (umobile) per month or reload 30$ per month (digi) whistling.gif
*
UMI18 is prepaid la laugh.gif And the validity is 3 times the amount you reload. Means you reload 100 then you get 300 days or 10 months.

http://www.u.com.my/prepaid/free_sms_and_calls

And that credit, you can still use to renew your Prepaid plans like this
http://www.u.com.my/prepaid/unlimited-mobile-internet-plan
when you're back in Malaysia. Not bad right? laugh.gif

Btw... According to this...
http://www.tunetalk.com/my/rates/domestic

Tunetalk is 16 cents/min. Almost similar to 18 cents/min of Umobile but umobile is giving 25mins/25sms/250MB for RM18 hmm.gif

Oh... And btw... Tunetalk charging block is 60 seconds. Even if you call for < 30s, you get charged 16cents. Umobile charging block is 9cents/30seconds.

Ohhhh... And btw... Umobile data rate is also 5cents/MB. Same same laaaaa laugh.gif

3 times reload?? i read their website validity 1 month (30days)
http://www.u.com.my/prepaid/unlimited-mobile-internet-plan
and doesnt not state rollover credit with total credit=total validity
i know tunetalk relode 50=70days but with 1st reload 50 credit back so means 100$ total= 140 days validity..
=4.6months. then when reach, topup 5$ =105$=147days... and it keeps going.
*
You read one is for UMI plan.

UMI is like a plan on top of its regular prepaid plan. There's only one kind of prepaid plan U mobile is having. That is this: http://www.u.com.my/prepaid/free_sms_and_calls

Means when you reload, the money goes into your prepaid account. Then if you need that UMI plan, only you subscribe it like an Add-On. Then it only deduct from the money you reloaded into your account.

Say now you reload 100. You get 300 days validity for your credit. Then you subscribe to the UMI plan, it deduct RM18. This plan will renew itself after 30 days. Means it's the 'Add-On Plan' that valid for 30 days. Not your credit. If you get what I mean? laugh.gif

Just change the microUSB module. It's a separate module from the motherboard. Shouldn't cost a bomb.

Second hand should be around that price I think. Depends on condition and whether it's AP or SME set and warranty period.

I tried pos laju from Sarawak to KL RM10.6 or something. Declared as phone but the staff didn't consider it as sensitive goods. Insured for... Rm1199 or something based on the receipt.

Even from borneo?

For within Malaysia, Pos Laju got either same day delivery or next day delivery only. Of course it depends on the time you send in the parcel. Mine sent in before what what what time (not very sure also not sure if it's branch dependent because Sarawak one need to fly over South China Sea to reach KL, depends on flight also). Then the same day, it took the plane and landed in KLIA on the same day. I guess at night. Then transit overnight from shah alam or subang (forgot d, there's a central thingy) then next day out for delivery from nearby poslaju branch. Received the next day around 5 (or 6... I remember that guy is late, their official delivery time until 4.30 only. I keep call them to push them laugh.gif)

Anyway, if you didn't send in your parcel after their 'deadline' (dead'time'??) then it should arrive the next day. Even from Sarawak to KL. Not sure about Sarawak to places like perlis/terengganu because that means more transit. My hometown at sarawak got direct flight to KL so it's just Local post office->Airport->KL Airport->Nearest pos laju->My house. Other places in peninsular don't know how they transfer those items. laugh.gif
