I'm wondering if anyone knows how to create a dripping effect using either photoshop or illustrator.

I know... and it's already my brush... but i wanna make my own one... customize it for some design....

use the liquid function in photoshop. First create a sphere shape. Then use the liquid function to drag it down.Change the settings to make it more realistic.

songhan.. by liquid.. do you mean the Liquify function..?

if you wanna create custom brush..
- create canvas
- new layer
- create drip effect
- turn off the background (so that it'll be transparent)
- Edit > Define Brush Preset > Name the brush and press OK

to create that drip effect..
- use the brush then open the brush options, play with the Shape Dynamics for Pressure. smile.gif
- perfect the lines using the brush.
- draw out the drips like your example.
- save the brush with the steps above.

or wasn't that what you were looking for..?

buy a paint spray...
buy a mounting board or use old boxes...
experiment with different pressure while spraying...
take photos...
import into photoshop...
adjust levels/curves/brightness/contrast...
do some clean-up...
manipulate using transform tool...
save as brush preset...
mix and match, use blending techniques, use transform tool...for different ones...

can be done in illustrator too, just path out the outline and fill the shape with black, and no problem with resizing, since it was vector
