Do NOT launch into 'sell' mode the moment you see your prospect. Now, you must be saying..".what?...you are telling a sales person not to sell?"

Of course, sell you must..but, Bid your time. First things first. So, what is the first thing to do?

Qualify your prospect. Let him do the talking...assess what his needs/wants are...

With the information, then the sell process can start...you are going to tell him how your product/service is going to help him fulfill his needs/wants as he had told you earlier.

Edit...added P/S
