Hi, this is just a simple worklog by myself to share with u guys.
Many people recommending this casing, Corsair Carbide 400R in the hardware Q&A section. I got poisoned by them also. At first i was considering between CM 692 Adv and Corsair 400R, some of them said that CM 692 is better for WC but i said i won't be going WC in the short future. At last still got poisoned and upgraded to custom WC in few months, sometimes u just can't resist. I'm in love with this casing, so try to do some research around to see how others install custom WC in 400R. This casing is very awesome for air cooling but there are some limitation for WC.

Okay watercooling part now, waiting for RS240 kit to restock since december. But still no stock so just go for the EX240 kit, using Laing D5 pump and EX240 radiator.

The tricky part is here. Most mid tower can't fit a radiator at top because there is some clearance issue. The radiator + normal thickness fan will block the RAM slot and the 8 pin connector.
So what i did here is move the radiator slightly near to the side panel.

Sorry for those images, some are blur some are clear. Have to borrow digital camera from gf to take clearer pic lol, otherwise use handphone so quality not so good. And this is my first ever experience playing with water cooling, i knew my setup still can adjust better as all the sifu suggested. I will readjust rad position make the tube shorter after i got the UV blue coolant. In the future i will make more upgrade, now really no more budget. Graduating in 3 more months hope that still can get some time to play with it. Thanks for everyone who helping me out in this! notworthy.gif

Simple and clean build.
Thumbs up thumbup.gif .
Will stay tune for the update on coolant.

A stupid question if you don't mind tongue.gif .
Can the car engine coolant to be used for water-cooling setup?

Great job there. But , i wonder why didn't you make that Radiator Inlet / Outlet closer to your reservoir. With a shorter tubing , i think it will look even better.? Just my 2 cents. Anyway , nice and clean look. XD

Only afford used Bitfenix Shinobi XL Window. And really regret buy that casing due to the rubberized finished. doh.gif Didn't research properly before buying. You just have prove Malaysian can't see the limit as yours are the best 400R water cool build I ever see, not even OCN. Simple, clean yet minimalism. I bet your rig can make me wet if the GPU are WC'ed too. Damn it! I really envy your build. doh.gif

I only can read the text at OCN, but the image are not load. Damn this internet. doh.gif I'm not remember the price. Hehe... I'm thinking of getting Switch 810 at first but somehow, I prefer the Shinobi XL minimalism as I'm a minimal freak, and I was badly poisoned by CyntrixTech Shinobi XL build.

But when to think of it again, I should have pick White Switch 810. sweat.gif

For acrylic, if you want really good paint, you can check out Krylon paint for acyrlics. No need to primer.

since i already replaced my front panel with radiator, so the front fan LED on/off switch will be useless
and i decided to change it to work with LED strip

made some research before starting
user posted image

this is the on off switch
user posted image

the fan connector is not the normal 3pin fan connector, so i need to take the stock fan header
user posted image

and only that pin can hold well in the header
user posted image

change it to the LED strip and sleeved the LED strip

Yeah got. Careful what you buy though. Krylon got many types. haha. Also, don't buy so many cans. It's more packed than other brands and it's like RM30+ a can. laugh.gif

If you're gonna get more vinyl to try again, I'd recommend getting your corner edge right first. That way you'll be guaranteed a nice corner edge. Also, when you stick, use a hair dryer/heat gun to help with and hard to fold parts.

Also, maybe get a cheap vinyl applicator. I got pretty much the best one kray_keigo has. lol. my rig quite an investment. sweat.gif

Not sure about the scout 2, but actually my 400R having clearance issue as well so I need to align it slightly towards the side panel. For below rm300 budget, another alternative is cm692 adv, the top panel has a shroud to hide ur fan.

Can fit in. There's 2x 120mm fan hole up there but I don't think it has enough clearance for rad + fan. Thickness of both around 55mm depend what rad u are using

If there is clearance issue then i need to drill another hole to fit the rad? yawn.gif

As moving slightly to left side. Hmm?

I'm using RS240 rad with XSPC fan or maybe Arctic cooling 120MM PWM fan.

I don't think u can drill another hole on top of scout 2. U go Google scout 2 top panel then u'll know why. If rs240 I think not enough clearance on top. Unless u mount fan or rad outside

Im not staying in sibu thought. So i guess either scout 2 or CM690II advanced will satisfied my need. Will update you what casing im.getting as buyer is grabing my asgard this friday smile.gif

You can always seek for local courier such as using big lorry or bus for delivery from sibu to kuching, that way of delivery fee will be much cheaper than using domestic postage service rom poslaju or other courier company.

It actually takes around 6 hours.
Well, some bus drivers will allow ppl to tumpang barang and deliver from terminal to terminal brows.gif .
So the price is quite dependent on the driver de mood tongue.gif .

Can't really confirm that la. Cuz last time I build a cm690 ii rig for my friends and 2 weeks later his casing dust more heavier than mine. But different environment so I can't 100% confirm about this

nice work log.

some advice on the sticking acrylic part.

you can apply water on the acrylic and the sticker before you paste it together.

make sure you clean the acrylic from dust first (you can just flush it with water and wipe it clean).

use plain water and mix with 2 or 3 drops of dish washer then spray it on your sticker (glue side) and spray it on the acrylic.

paste the sticker on the acrylic and use a name card or something hard with a flat surface (this is important because uneven surface might strach your sticker) and cover it with a clean dry cloth to push out the water from your sticker.

by doing so, you should have a bubble free surface on your sticker and acrylic.

ya, at first yes. due to not enough coolant in the res. so the whole loop full with bubble
now better already. but still not as clear as the first time i install. i guess most of my part affected by plasticizer already
and under UV effect also cause the coolant looks solid color
