joytest what about this app for the wifi direct part in the first post? I have so far not managed to transfer files using the built in wifi direct(even with another note 2 lol) but this worked flawlessly. Highly recommended.
This is the XDA thread for the app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1941635 and btw, to those of you who want an even faster charging time than with the stock charger, get the ipad 4 charger. 70% in 90 minutes lol. less than 2.5 hours to full charge from flat |

if the s4 is really gonna use snapdragon 600, then the note 3 better use snapdragon 800 at least
or better, the beast itself!! |

QUOTE(antt00 @ Feb 22 2013, 06:57 PM) The only thing that matter with the new processor is how batt efficient they are. Speed really is irrelevant now. The reason I want s800 is for quick charge 2.0 and the voice activation those are the two things that will stand out when compared to s600. Yup, efficiency is definitely what I look forward to, but lets face it, we need Samsung to have something like the IGZO panel that sharp has on LCD panels iPad 5 will be using that panel, which will enable then to cut down the batt size and hence reduce the weight and thickness to iPad 2 level and btw the news below brought some tears of joy to me http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/22/qualcom...lobal-lte-chip/ |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Feb 23 2013, 02:34 AM) Until today I'm still unsure how simplistic framework works. we might get a leak around march(like I predicted quite a while ago Fortunately for me, both Emotion Note and Hawkish offer me good user's experience and with absolutely great battery life. Well, have to be fair, part of the reason for the good battery life is because of RedPill kernel. Absolutely but again I depend on you guys to report here once the leak is out. I'm sure by then I won't be the first one. I do admit, I'm really waiting for 4.2.1 Oh yes, next android version will be out on May, so the waiting will start again then They are gonna be adding WiFi hotspot to the notification panel with the 4.2 update |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Feb 23 2013, 02:49 AM) Yes, not much updates but at least the fancy icons (that's for me. I guess there's a reason why they've been giving the same updates to us for a long time. Most probably after releasing the "batt drain fix" 4.1.2, they have started on 4.2.and to make sure people don't start shouting, they just re-release the same damn thing to make everyone keep quiet Until today I haven't used the WiFi hotspot feature simply because DiGi is not worth to be shared. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Feb 23 2013, 03:03 AM) To be honest, you can have all the fancy icings on the cake but if your battery life sucks, it basically shoos away the users... Nobody wants to use a smartphone with crappy battery life. (No offence to iPhone users. yeah 4.2.2 fixes the crazy batt drain that plagued almost every nexus 4 users. Would be nice to see batt life comparable to 4.1.1 with the update, although for me at least, Im getting the same SOT with 4.1.1 even on DLL7 which is considered as the batt drain firmware My cousin is using Nexus 4 and the most recent update does fix the battery life issue. So, I hope Samsung could pick up the same thing and do something to Note II's battery life. Coming from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2, while I love all the updates 4.1.2 give, I must admit the battery life somehow gets shortened compared to 4.1.1. Still, with all the extra features of 4.1.2, they do compensate the loss of that little battery life. My personal opinion la. Again, with more users like tot31, I believe Samsung will stop concentrating on their battery life issue. Would be nice to get an average of 8 hours SOT and good idle batt with 4.2.2 |

aaarrggghh, how nice it would have been if we had a simple basic dependable recovery.... |

ok...I think its redpill kernel which is causing this issue. I restored my old nandroid, which uses neak. tried to nandroid that firmware to my external and it went thru boot image backing up fine.
weird..... |

QUOTE(antt00 @ Feb 23 2013, 05:36 PM) yup, hopefully the design is almost the same for the note 3 too. I use multi window alot and 5 inch screen is gonna be seriously small for that. and of course the awesome S Pen.Hopefully Samsung implements OIS on their 2013 flagship. The HTC One promo video looks so professional thanks to that. hate taking videos on my phone lol |

QUOTE(antt00 @ Feb 23 2013, 06:17 PM) I seriously doubt will have spen. Makes no sense for Samsung to take away note series main selling point and give to another flagship model. you got me wrong i was saying that s4 would not cut it for me as the note 2 screen is bigger(for multi window) and it has a stylus |

QUOTE(antt00 @ Feb 23 2013, 06:35 PM) we are severely limited in terms of choices, but luckily the choice( without the s ) that we do have is a really great one wonder is this a good or bad thing I seriously hope they put stereo speakers into their phones this year just like the "prototype" s3 pic last year. Speaker on the back is the dumbest thing ever. My ipod sounds so much better than this phone |

QUOTE(brotan @ Feb 25 2013, 12:29 AM) Bro that graph is generic only ler I summon gouken to enlighten us about this topic. he knows battery more than anyone I know Most likely they use some 18650 cell May not come from Samsung Again that graph main purpose to show the effect of higher charging voltage impact relative to lower ones Don't take the numbers on absolute terms Will be interesting to see how would note2 (4.35v) compare to note1 (4.2v) in terms of battery life I think its something to do with the fact that the note 2 batt is built with the 3.8v voltage chemistry rather than 3.7v. refer below http://www.anandtech.com/show/6196/prepari...mors-analyzed/5 yes, I know the link is about the iphone 5 but it has something there that might make things clearer |
