QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Mar 5 2013, 10:43 AM) Looks disappointing. Only way s4 might amaze me is if keyboard accuracy like iphone, retina display, aluminum or titanium body, battery life similar to note 2 or better, resistive buttons like back and options, fm transmitter, camera performance at least a nokia n8 quality and spen technology without spen i guess it really boils down to individuals...If not I wont even consider it for me... i'm used to SWIPE. no swype, its not really a touchscreen keyboard la... coz we have so many swipe and gestures but keyboard still need to tap like the old physical keyboard?!? accuracy-wise, swipe is accurate. retina display... how to define it? based on PPI? if so... S4 will have about 441 pixels per inch, assuming rumours of fullHD on 4.99" screen is true. i never liked titanium or any 'metal' body. drop it a bit and you get a permanent dent. ouch... camera... ok la... but you've shown ma... Note 2 also can take nice photos. spen tech without spen is not possible coz spen uses WACOM tech which employs some sort of magnetic thingy. so unless you have new accessories like maybe wear a finger glove... else i doubt out finger will have magnetic power strong enuff to do the air view thingy... well, unless you're Magneto... heh heh... i actually wish Samsung would just remove those physical buttons... but what to do... still need that since its the one thing iPhone users are so familiar with -- yes, i believe samsung is targetting iPhone users. |

QUOTE(Positron @ Mar 5 2013, 10:53 AM) Agree, I guess it's not really beneficial to change to s4, since all the games on the note 2 are fairly smooth without lagging, well there are some games which lag, but majority are acceptable.. Yes, it's cheaper but for me Note is still FTW compare to S3 itself. I'm not going to say S3 is bad but Note 2 just kill it with S-Pen and nicer screen ratio. Take a look at the S3 home physical button and Note 2. The position is nicer in Note 2. Anyway, hopefully S4 will be sweet looking phone at least like HTC One build quality. Well, plastic is not ugly especially by Samsung but I think it's time for Samsung to change the material this time only with S4.There is no other complains on the note 2 i guess, except for that screen rotation bug.. For me the only way the s4 will impress me is that it is cheaper than the note 2, so in that case I can sell my note 2 and buy the s4 without topping up any money.. |

Retina display really looks better? Camera … Samsung is not using Carl Zeiss lens also… cant beat Nokia lor…. Just can take nicer photo than Xperia series I guess… with that 8 cores processor, battery must be larger than 3000 mah lolx… If not I wont even consider it QUOTE(Positron @ Mar 5 2013, 10:53 AM) Agree, I guess it's not really beneficial to change to s4, since all the games on the note 2 are fairly smooth without lagging, well there are some games which lag, but majority are acceptable.. if this is real… 8 cores is too much… so far I dun see any apps that required so many cores to run, and not 100% fully utilized also… they also need to price the phone reasonalble to compete with xperia and htc One… I rather hope them to put more effort on design, bettery battery and better body material instead of 8 cores ....There is no other complains on the note 2 i guess, except for that screen rotation bug.. Actually 8 cores are not using at the same time according to Samsung. It's like Tegra 3/4 processors which having Ninja core (fifth core) when only minimal power needed or some might say power saving processor. But Samsung Exynos will use in both situation with quad cores. Either full power or power saving usage. So, it's impossible to actually power up all 8 cores in one time. I don't see any reason to do this so far.if this is real… 8 cores is too much… so far I dun see any apps that required so many cores to run, and not 100% fully utilized also… they also need to price the phone reasonalble to compete with xperia and htc One… I rather hope them to put more effort on design, bettery battery and better body material instead of 8 cores .... |

My calander apps seemed to have problem today. I couldn't see my calander and it always prompted "unfortunately, calendar storage has stopped" or calendar has stopped. Rebooted already also same problem. Anybody has such issue?

Wipe calender data. I only my google account as my calender and not "My Calender" on the phone. That way my appointment/task are never lost as its in the cloud somewhere. Am running on XXDMA5 monxDIFIED, Perseus 3.1.2 I face this issue before and only way is to wipe the calender app data and i lost all my appointments. |

QUOTE(alexng2208 @ Mar 5 2013, 01:08 PM) Yes i believe its 2 processor with 4 cores each. 1 processor is for normal use. The other one use when doing low level processing.Like note 2 now, our sensors are not run by the main processor. We have a low level processor to run the sensors like proximity, gyro etc. Which enable us to use all those motion related thingy and even keeping the sensor on all the time without draining the battery or creating wakelock. The main processor is always asleep. This post has been edited by antt00: Mar 5 2013, 01:35 PM |

Have u tried using Abyss kernel's tweak on other kernels from Abyss's recovery ?Like note 2 now, our sensors are not run by the main processor. QUOTE(Noobi3 @ Mar 5 2013, 01:36 PM) No but it shouldn't work. The settings are stored in /data/.abyss Kernel like perseus reads its data from /data/.perseus and redpill from /data/.redpill Also some things like GPU for example are located in different locations. Why? Are you facing any issues? |

QUOTE(alexng2208 @ Mar 5 2013, 01:08 PM) There was a prototype using Exynos 5 already at MWC. Watch the video closely. http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/25/samsung...-octa-hands-on/ QUOTE The main processor is always asleep Really? Which mean current Note 2 processor is not using full power yet? |

QUOTE(faridaizuddin @ Mar 5 2013, 01:39 PM) No. I need to say it more clearly. Should be "Main processor is always asleep when there is no major process happening" Example if you use quick glance, the proximity sensor is always on when screen is off BUT it is not powered by the main processor but by a separate low level processor. Hence there is no wakelock or significant battery drain. On older devices if you keep the proximity sensor on, the processor will not sleep. |
