Whoa.... supercomputer-level GPU in your gaming machine? Insanity! biggrin.gif

Mad to have 2,688 CUDA cores with 6GB of GDDR5 memory !

I can imagine folks at say Crytek would be jumping for joy.

I was reading the reviews and the benchie figures, and I was like sleep.gif ... hah, it can't even beat the 690, but it keeps up acceptably to it.

Then I realized... TITAN is single GPU! Not that I didn't know, but it is mind boggling that a single GPU can come "close" (10-20fps average loss) to a 690.

And the price point is $999 = 690.

If it was me, I would choose the TITAN over a 690. It is just raw, brute, performance. And the noise levels of the TITAN... just absolutely impressive.

GK110 FTW!

Nvidia says Tri-SLI TITAN is the way to go for a 3-display surround gaming for "Crysis 3" at 5760x1080. My 680 is going to melt real good even at 1080p...

SLI scaling is just not doing good on the TITAN. I blame it on drivers and quite possibly... for the first time, "too much" under the hood? hmm.gif Feels like a single GPU solution for the future and not now. CPU limitation perhaps? Once something way more powerful comes out, it will start to unravel more TITAN? Perhaps..

Whats the best settings are you guys using to play crysis 3 at 1080p? What frame rates are you getting. Asking mainly for 660ti. 670. 680. 570.580. 7870.7950.7970 users

I am playing mine at maximum settings, no V-sync, TXAA 4x, 1920x1080 = smooth all the way. Okay, there "are" certain moments that slight slowdowns are noticeable but nothing really major, just like "Far Cry 3". In fact, quite surprised by how good the performance is (Core i7 870 4GHz, 8Gb Mem, Palit Jetstream 680 2G, latest WHQL drivers). How many fps ? Well, I don't really care much as long as it plays well. tongue.gif

ppl just don't realize physx is just marketing gimmick. biggrin.gif

Well, truth to be told, PhysX or not, it depends on the game developers and how they intend to make their game. Surely there would be some kind of game dev-Nvidia deal going on. I won't say it is merely a marketing gimmick, but wouldn't deny it either.

PhysX has some awesome particle effects and there are a few games to be released soon to support this, just to name a few ... "Metro Last Light", "ARMA 3", "Lost Planet 3", "Star Trek" and currently "Hawken". It's just a few, but these are no small titles. As long as Nvidia can promise some goodness with PhysX, there will always be game devs developing their games with PhysX.

Worth watching... it's Mr. Jen-Hsun doing what he does best.

Fermi -> Kepler -> Maxwell -> Volta

Volta is going to be a radical step up of any GPU to date. Almost unlimited memory bandwidth. 1Terabytes per second bandwidth! shocking.gif

So I heard it's May 23? Been out of the 'Nvidia' scene for sometime tongue.gif

Geforce GTX 780 Comes On May 23rd

QUOTE
We got news from multiple sources that the Geforce GTX 780, based on GK110 Titan chip, is coming on the May 23rd. Nvidia is launching reference clocked cards and they should be available from day one, but most overclocked cards will show their face a few weeks later.
There will be overclocked cards, but from what we understand the Geforce GTX 780 is using a Titan cooler and most people will continue using it as it’s a high quality design. Some vendors might dare to use their custom cooling solutions as there are some available in the market and even water cooled cards might be in the works.

Reference cards should sell for around 500 euro, while overclocked cards will be closer to the 600 euro mark, but we expect some deviations depending on the market and the specific vendors. These prices are just a rough range of what Nvidia expects them to sell for.

It's not Maxwell, so not expecting a super leap in performance but of course, it will be a nice boost. Who knows, might sell my 680 and get it, will wait and see...

Delicious non-reference card right there!

Imma going to wait for Palit Jetstream's GTX 780... but I doubt the increase in performance is going to be majorly noticeable considering my 680 is holding up damn well. $599 price as well, so expect a higher price in stores.

According to this site:

Impressive. Quite a bit of difference compared to a 680 as it holds up pretty well against a Titan.

The price of the 780 is out of reach for me. Oh well, still got a 680. smile.gif

Will definitely be keeping my Palit Jetstream 680... no 770/780. biggrin.gif Thought of selling my 680 but nah...no thanks. Not gonna spend $$$ for that small performance increment. I'll wait for the 880 (Maxwell?) in 2014. That should be some radical improvement over Kepler. Would be worth for those on the 'lesser end' of the 600 series or still stuck in 500 series.

Read a tonne of GTX 780 / 700 series reviews.

Not a wise move to get it. Wait for 800 series. IMHO.

Anyway, isn't it super long overdue for V12 of this thread?

how so? so far have been looking up at lots of youtube reviews, linustechtips, newegg, paul hardware etc. and it seems fine to them. however note that i'm getting the card with reference cooler. thoughts?

The 700 series is like an "in-between"/"transition" between Kepler and Maxwell, due in 2014. An improvement over previous series in all areas that sets the stage for the next architectural leap. Don't get me wrong, brilliant performance but worth waiting for Maxwell instead.

QUOTE(yaphong @ Jul 14 2013, 11:12 PM)
I think when you compare the price vs performance ratio in Malaysia then it is not that worth it.

Absolutely true. The definite truth about the 700 series.
