Maybe it's a blessing in disguise that we are not the first batch since we can really evaluate reviews from early adopters. HTC may have ironed out the kinks in second batch too. BUt still, I cant wait!!

If only available by end of April, I think a lot of people will choose to buy other brands . I for one might not wait that long. HTC, I don't know what you're thinking but delaying the launch in certain regions might just make you lose out in your sales since there are very prominent competitors out there such as Apple and Samsung.

Another question here: So the camera is made up of a single 4.3mp sensor or 3 x 4.3mp sensor? Previous reports said the latter but none said a thing about triple sensors after the official launch. I am confused!

By the way, Vietnam also has bigger market compared to Malaysia? The country is included in the list of first batch countries.

in overseas, their rate of signing up a phone with plans are cheap. (of course you don't compare with conversation rate, dollar to dollar) sometimes even free.

in Malaysia, you still need to pay RM 1k plus to get a phone. that naturally narrow the target market. Market is one thing. but need to factor in your target market. In Malaysia, only the mid to high income groups are capable of owning this phone. With that being said, middle income also don't change their phones every now and then.
*
That still doesn't explain how Vietnam is included in the first batch launch. Unless you're saying vietnamese have higher income compared to malaysians

that the reason.

imagine a waiter there with salary of USD2k salary each month, can buy the phone outright using 1/4 of their salary, compared to us a degree holder with RM2k salary, you need 2-3 month to buy the phone, so they delay 1-2 month for us to save more $$  thumbup.gif

If you're talking about USA, that's very true. But vietnam? rclxub.gif

Htc one vs iphone 5... Someone just gotta paste it here
*
Higher megapixel is definitely a bonus when it comes to the amount of details you want. Htc One seems to produce more natural colour compared to Iphone 5. Iphone 5 has more saturated color reproduction (except for the portrait pic of the lady).

TBH, I don't see how the low light pic is better. Fellow sifu's please fill me in

Nahh..i'm not an avid photographer.  For me any type of built in camera on phone will do as long as there is one. hmm.gif
But camera won't be a dealbreaker on any phone for me. That's why i'm suprise because the way some of you arguing/comparing the phone camera specs between Xperia Z and One seems like taking pictures is the only main features you buy the phone. shakehead.gif
*
Because HTC emphasized on the camera as one of its selling point from the very start. That's why people start comparing. Simple as that.

Emphasize as one of it selling points not THE ONLY selling point. rclxub.gif
A lots of other features are there..BlinkFeed..Zoe..BoomSound. two stereo speakers..full metal casing body..etc..etc
And yet certain ppl keep on highlight the camera between these two phones. Why..? hmm.gif
Sad truth is..it just an obsessive fans arguments between HTC and Sony. Pure and simple. Both side want to be acknowledge that their beloved phone is the best between these two products.
*
Well, if you read what I wrote previously, I said "ONE OF ITS selling point". I did not say "THE ONLY selling point".

If you look at the keynote, Scott Croyle touted ONE's camera as a revolutionary breakthrough which will automatically draw everyone's attention. Moreover, HTC just coined a new term called Ultrapixel which is rather new in the camera industry leading to the inevitable attention. It's normal for people to feel curious hence wanting to compare its quality with those of other flagships out there.

I do agree with you that they are other features like BlinkFeed and Zoe etc but these are only software which can be rather subjective when it comes to how they dictate user experience. Stereo speakers in htc aint the first of its kind in smartphone. Just look up for those in Nokia.

Finally, drawing comparisons doesn't make us fanboys or obsessive. We want to know whatever we are going to invest is worth the money. You maybe right too about some people making the camera of a phone the main determinant in their choice of a phone. To each his own.

I think S4 will also be on sale around April. Bad move HTC! I'm pretty sure it's sale in Msian market will be swayed by s4 especially if both devices go on sale at the same time here. Now, I'm talking about sales only in Msia.

Chillax bro. Why are you so uptight over the way things are discussed here? Sometimes, in a forum, inevitably people will talk about some comparisons and the like. Please don't try to dictate everything here as if you run the show. doh.gif

For all I know forum is where we can speak freely. Don't kill a healthy discussion just because you want it your way. rclxub.gif

Read our full discussion first before you want to butt in bro tongue.gif
We are talking to and fro about Samsung S4 processor..not a thing about HTC One. If want to discuss about S4 then wouldn't it better, done in S4 thread instead of here..? rclxub.gif

I started THAT discussion and feel regret doing so inside this thread. That's why i suggest we quit talking bout it anymore and continue on something more relevant to HTC One instead.
*
Like I said, this is a forum. We are free to talk about anything. It's ok to sidetrack a little. Look at any other threads bro. It's the norm. I have been lurking in this thread for quite a bit to know about your controlling nature.

Don't act like another 'Mr Listen'. You have the tendecy to shove your idea down ppl's throat.

End of April is still very far off. I wonder if shops like satugadget and directd would have stocks by next week?

I remember seeing a previous post from a user on lowyat about having a HTC One training on 4th of March since he is an employee at one of the authorised retail stores.
*
Lowyat.net did post a photo previously showing the logo of Maxis being one of the many Telcos carrying HTC One. Hopefully it will arrive sooner. A few forumers are quite certain it will arrive by end of next month. The longer the wait, the more market share HTC will lose with the arrival of S4.

I was initially dead set to get HTC One, but the delay has caused me to adopt the "wait and see what samsung has up its sleeve" stance. Like many have mentioned previously, perhaps HTC considers Malaysia a small market so they wouldn't be too worried about losing out in such a miniscule sale here.

My guess is, they might launch red color as limited edition if the sales of black/ silver are encouraging!

question, where do you find demo phone unit to play with when butterfly launched? tongue.gif

wonder where to play demo ONE in future hehe before buy
*
I could not find any demo set for HTC Butterfly despite my numerous trips to several telcos and senQ n SenHeng. My bet is, it would probably be equally difficult for HTC One.
