The High Speed Rail will connect 5 intermediate stops in Malaysia to Singapore, following a coastal route.

The stations that have currently been identified are the terminus station in Kuala Lumpur at Bandar Malaysia (announced at the Malaysia-Singapore Leaders’ Retreat in 2014), Seremban, Ayer Keroh, Muar, Batu Pahat, Nusajaya and the final stop in Singapore at Jurong East (announced at Leaders’ Retreat in 2015).

The proposed Kuala Lumpur - Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) project is expected to generate an economic impact of RM100 billion to the country's gross domestic product (GDP).

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar said of the total, about RM70 billion would be generated from construction, operations and multiplier impact from the mega rail project.

The balance RM30 billion is expected to be gained from a wider economic benefit via increase in other economic sectors such as property, tourism and services.

For sure house price at the vicinity of these stations will be boom boom boom when HSR is confirmed.

Need 7 years for construction meh? If HSR really give to China, they should take shorter time let say 5 years based on their past record.

MYHSR Corp Sdn Bhd will lay out plans for the authorities to freeze all land transactions along the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed rail (HSR) corridor.

... He said there would be two stages of land acquisition. The first will be to freeze transactions for a corridor that is 500m wide.

“Once that is determined, we will take the next step to acquire the land. But we will acquire a narrower corridor of about 50m. So, much of the land will be released.”

Hope it can be done fast so that we know better where is the likely location for these stations.

nope

unless tats really insider story from the project team, then i got nothing to say, cause from my personal experience dealing with SG government construction project , they always go for the lowest price one , the quality point scoring method on the pricing is way too heavier than other criteria , and i belip no one can go low price than china

unless china hsr got stupiak and get kick-out from the tender , else no chance other can win

Xpress West, a private US firm that planned to build a high-speed rail link between Los Angeles and Las Vegas with Chinese companies, suddenly said it was terminating the project, less than nine months after it was announced.

It is the fifth overseas project involving Chinese firms to be scrapped or revised in just 18 months – the others were in Mexico, Venezuela, Indonesia and Thailand.

For Beijing, the loss of the US project was the most galling.

It happen mainly at land acquisition stage, unlike PRC Government will force the residents there to move out, you need to pay for fair land cost oversea..

Think again it is wise to let a country that have territorial dispute to control such a strategic assets of the country?

Some more this country said the permanent court of arbitration's award is rubbish, what a gangster!
