When u talk about staying in puchong, u are referring to residential, right? Lake edge, lakeside residence and mutiara puchong are the only residentials that are affected. Other parts of puchong are mostly on high elevated land.

I think the authority need to go and check the drains. I believe they are likely clogged at many places.

They have no systematic ways to identify and penalize the culprits who clogged the drains.

If you look at the photos of the flooding clearly, you should notice that the flood was at the open car park of IOI Mall and on the south bound of LDP. North bound of LDP (which is just next to IOI car park), was not flooded. Wonder why?

I already comfirmed for you in the skypod thread. You don't believe me ke ?

You can check the photos.

The flood is south bound, but somehow it's clear off at Persiaran Puchong Jaya Selatan.

Why are the residents from Lakeside Residence/Lake Edge/Mutiara Puchong affected? The flash flood yesterday was due to drainage problem near IOI Mall.

The flood was NOT caused by the water level overflowing at the lakes surrounding Lakeside Residence/Lake Edge/Mutiara Puchong.

It was obvious that yesterday's flash flood was caused by the poor drainage. I am puzzled with why so many people simply jumped into conclusion without even looking into the actual issue.

Cant imagine the heavy rain just less than 2 hours and can caused a heavy flood at the frontage of IOI Mall n saw few cars swimming.

I drove past IOI Mall at 4+pm towards BK and starts raining but it took about at 6pm, can heard ppl said its flood.

Ohh really, bro? Same spot same location of ytd incident?

I just know, there was a day ( i think last 2 months ), it was very very heavy rain ( much greater than ytd ) for at least 5-6 hours. Some places were flood like USJ n Jln Klang Lama but nothing happened to ytd's spot of IOI mall.

Even the Kinrara BJ highway, some spots, also a little bit flood of level to half wheel of cars, but managed to go thru anyway and whole KL was jammed bcz of the flood.

No I wonder how come BK, the Kinrara-BJ highways were not hit by the flood since it was also LRT construction along the highway but LDP, one of the very main roads for Puchong residents.

Mutiara Puchong always banjir? Here is another rumor.

AFAIK, the flood in Mutiara Puchong several years ago was caused by the blocked drainage in that area. During that time, Lakeside Reseidence and other areas next to Mutiara Puchong were not affected at all.

Lake Edge and Lakeside Residences did not flood yesterday. The nearby river and retention pond provided effective drainage.

The LDP flooded near IOI mall due to underground drainage drains were blocked.

Flood and landslide risks are too material and cannot be overlooked in property investment today. Avoid low or steep ground.

Property buyers' sentiment is stronger than the flood, & keeping prices afloat.

My bro who worked in IOI Mall said only IOI old wing affected but new wing didn't affected. I wonder why ?

Is it still so hard to explain why if it was due to drainage clogged ?

Ohh really, bro? Same spot same location of ytd incident?

I just know, there was a day ( i think last 2 months ), it was very very heavy rain ( much greater than ytd ) for at least 5-6 hours. Some places were flood like USJ n Jln Klang Lama but nothing happened to ytd's spot of IOI mall.

Even the Kinrara BJ highway, some spots, also a little bit flood of level to half wheel of cars, but managed to go thru anyway and whole KL was jammed bcz of the flood.

People don't respect the drains. The drains angry and make noise ....

Now people give them attention.

But after a while, people will neglect them again. The cycle repeats .....

Not sure this will solve the flood issue or not?

Fast forward 3 years later and we just had another Puchong IOI Mall flash flood incident. It doesn’t solve the issue.

Puchong ex mining land. Plus low lying areas. Definitely prone to flooding. Those higher areas also not safe. Prone to landslides plus the road leading to the taman developes a lot of cracks.

Looks like flash flood is still a threat to this part of Puchong and the new launch projects along this main road will be badly affected? If the road is flooded then people can't go home.
