QUOTE(arslow @ Mar 15 2013, 03:56 AM) Camera looks pretty good. Dialer looks so ugly lol. Os the new panel really efficient that they decided to change all the black background to white? And you can see all the wallpapers are very vibrant, got a feeling the screen is gonna be amazing Seriously? If that is really the ACTUAL S4 like the rumors has said.. I am kinda disappointing with SAM designs.. sigh.. Anyhow, 4 more hours till the release

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Mar 15 2013, 12:12 PM) hahaha everyone keep looping "design" topic over and over again *yawn* i stay aside and keep watching this thread see got software problem like s3 or not haha. well, Samsung is overload with galaxy series phone and all looks damn similar... and since HTC has change how the android phone game play.. everyone is speculating that Samsung will answer to their fans call by having better design... IMHO, some of the function that S4 offers is not that practical... like the group share.. not everyone around you also use S4... home sync.. i bet hardly we will see in MY.. the smart stop video thingy.. i think it just will drain battery.. even on my Note 2 i off the smart stay...

QUOTE(PeeEl @ Mar 15 2013, 12:41 PM) Do you mind if I use your comments to attest to what I posted earlier? No vilification whatsoever. Samsung or for that matter no properly managed organizations will fix what 'ain't broke'. And Samsung is way ahead of HTC in every sense of the word. Why then would they emulate them? I have offered a wager earlier that the S4 will do better than the S3. Now with tongue-in-cheek I am offering another one that Samsung will outperform HTC in sales. You are most definitely entitled to your opinion but mine is that you, I believe is not thinking globally cause phones are sold universally and the functions/features you mentioned may not be widely used in our motherland but probably cannot be done without in other parts of the world. This short summary just ratifies what I posted earlier. Again, please don't take offense as I just want, not in defense of Samsung, to validate my remark about the interesting mind-set of the human race. Don't worry, it is just a merely personal opinion and I am open for critics. Ain't this a forum for discussion?

QUOTE(PeeEl @ Mar 15 2013, 12:54 PM) You just raised a very valid point which escaped us, including yours truly. All of us here are already owners/users of S3 and/or Note2. Yeah, there are others out there who do not own the phones we have or even the Samsung brand. As such, it is this demographic that Samsung may conquer with the S4. I will agree with you that S4 sales will eventually triumph HOne, as Samsung marketing is no doubt far more greater than HTC and it creates a trend in the consumer buying pattern thus it the huge demand. What I've observed is that many typical consumer all are hype about the BIG S4 where they have not even heard of HOne now don't even mention about M7 prior to the launch.

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Mar 15 2013, 12:59 PM) Ya, marketing is extreme important! In terms of marketing... it used to be Apple that is leading the market.. but because of the lack of innovation they are losing the market share to s3 and note 2.. but still they still eat up quite a portion of the pie (purely because of their excellent marketing). HTC has always been quite dull in their marketing preposition and less proactive in creating trend.

QUOTE(FrostLance @ Mar 15 2013, 02:27 PM) errr... what world do u live in.. what manufacturers doesnt look for improvements from previous model??????? From all i see, HTC is the one right now making huge major changes.. both software and hardware wise. Sony is a bit too slow.. To survive in the saturated market.. one has to be different or be the leader.

QUOTE(FrostLance @ Mar 15 2013, 02:30 PM) yeah if u crop above 200% and i was talking about still images.. Tell me do u use a 4k monitor? if not no major difference. The most important thing for images are detail and image quality. MP is a myth unless u use 4k monitors or printing banners. I guess its be fair to compare still pictures on typical hi-res monitor aka 27"/30" 2560x1600 res... then we can see whether ultrapixel matters or higher MPs matters.

QUOTE(FrostLance @ Mar 15 2013, 02:38 PM) well u have d800e if u want high red pictures.. why would u need a camera phone to shoot high res pics.. to me 8 mp is enough... they need to focus on Image quality, sharpness ,low light capabilities and low noise... Thats more important for a camera... arguing about MP is u dont go zooming in 300-400% on FB pics do you? What else would u use camera phones for? Professional photography? lol.. I use a 12mp Fujifilm X100 for wedding and street photogs lol that's my whole point... displaying the shootout in a hi-res monitor and see which one actually capture sharper pics and I'm not typical consumer that go for the XX MP...

QUOTE(giovanni @ Mar 15 2013, 02:42 PM) If the photos are only for your "eye" on typical HD monitors / Hi-Res monitors/ phone or tablet... 3-4MP is pretty much showing your enough clarify.. but if you are gonna blow the pics to building size banner etc... u gonna need a very high pixel density pictures... I worked in creative agency before and I understand that typical printout for magazine or A2 size posters.. you need minimum 300 dpi photos.. I'm not sure how much ultrapixel can capture then...

QUOTE(FrostLance @ Mar 15 2013, 02:46 PM) higher megapixel =/= sharper.. i think u got the whole concept wrong.. thats there the pixel density comes into play... normally we need at least 300dpi pictures to blow into A2 without any distortion. Ultrapixel is using the more "pixel" captured vs. 13mp rival like s4...

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Mar 15 2013, 02:54 PM) i guess the pixel density is only true if one wants to crop a certain part of the photo and then blow it up. and they are measured in ppi, not dpi which stands for dot (used in physical print). otherwise, if taking the whole photo without cropping and printing it somewhere... then higher pixel count is more important (like 4mp camera vs 42mp camera), right? crop or not.. its still the pixel count. I was educated by my creative department that high-res pictures does not always mean high pixel count.
