Hi all,

I have an ipad 1 sitting on the bookshelf collecting dust. thinking of repairing it. i think the problem is with the digitizer faulty. anyone knows the cost of replacing the digitizer part?

Been asking iPhone/iPad repair shops...replacement of digitizer or batt cost around $300.

Since you are NOT going to use it anymore and collecting dust, why not pay about RM300 or a little bit more to fix it and then SELL it off at a reasonable price to some people who cannot afford to buy a new one.

Maybe some parents may want to buy it for their kids to learn or whatever reasons for other to have it.

At least this can lead to a WIN-WIN situation.

Thanks.

I bought the ipad 1 for 1.7k, assuming repair cost $300. That's 2k. How much can I sell Ipad 1 these days? If it is for a few hundred bucks, i rather keep it for own use!

Sorry, this is just my suggestion only.

Since you said you are not using it and only leave it on the bookshelf collecting dust.

Might as well sell it off as faulty item, repair it and then sell if off, repair it and then use it again or maybe repair it and give to any of your beloved one instead of just collecting dust.

At the end, after many many years later and still in the bookshelf collecting dust, you still need to get rid of it in the future.

Well, up to you to take whatever action you like.

I am just suggesting.

Thanks.

Took my ipad 1 to the repair shop and found out it's not the digitizer but the logic board is faulty! It cost more than $500 to replace the logic board sad.gif

Anyone wants to buy my ipad1 for spare parts? Only the logic board is faulty, the rest of the parts are ok...
