I don't get it. Why would they launch 2 similar phones when they could have just launched one? Unless the other one is gonna cost cheaper, then it'd be understandable

similar spec but with slight differences of features & design to capture more consumers
see 1st post more info spoiler for the differences

I know. But what's the point of launching ZL when Z is gonna be more attractive? Besides, ZL itself indicates that it should be the one which has the better specs. No?

Sony works in the mysterious way. Even differentiating Japanese and International version, Western and Asian market (the T and TX case) was beyond me.

I guess the absent of dedicated camera button on the Z was done on purpose to improve the selling point on ZL.

But I don't see any Japanese nor International variation here for both models. Do you?

I don't get it. Why not just focus on the selling of Z? I have a slightest thinking that ZL won't be a success

It'll be totally serious if they can get a Snapdragon 800 processor in one of the phones this year.

I'm pretty sure they'll use the latest chipset by Qualcomm; if you're aware of the upcoming devices

They didn't for the Z, and they're sticking with the 600 for the rumoured device. Battery concerns I suspect for the higher end processors.

Lol. Obviously they couldn't use the latest chipsets as Qualcomm just announced them on the same day where Xperia Z was also announced. But for the upcoming ones, we'll just have to wait. Even if it's Snapdragon 600, it'll be more than enuff. Just look at Optimus G Pro. When we thought One was the best, Optimus G Pro beats One just like that. Sony will just have to make it right

Lol. 15th? A day after S IV's launch. It'll just make people even harder to make choice. Bad move? Hmmm

Yes and no. By the time the S IV is going to be release for sale, there could be the updated Snapdragon 600 or 800 Sony, and by then the Note 3, and then a new James Bond phone (or whatever movie it'll be for 2013) etc. It's a never ending cycle. Something newer is always around the corner.

What, you're gonna change phone every 3-month? So rich. Gimme one then. Lol

I don't. I'm very well aware of this phone cycle

I was commenting on the statement regarding the S IV's unveiling being on the 14th, while the Xperia Z launch is on the 15th.

Also, take note, 14th @ NY, USA. So have to take into account for the timezone difference. It is only Tuesday, the 5th, 3.49 am there now.

Xperia Z has already been launched aka announced. Only yet to be released

Btw, I'm expecting a battle between Xperia Z and S IV. For Note II, it'll definitely be compared to upcoming Sony devices. In this case, I'm not sure if Sony will stand a chance. Or at least, make it available before S IV's launch so that Sony will have a strong position

Anyway, I'm on Sony's side. No worry
