QUOTE(eugenetwh @ Mar 7 2013, 03:10 PM) u are subscribing to normal data plan right? as in there's is no special plan for LTE right? follow up. so if im using maxis' 5gb data... when i reach a certain area with LTE, automatically i will be getting LTE speed. No? Regular plan, just head over to a Maxis center and ask them to activate LTE for your number. Nothing extra. QUOTE(make87 @ Mar 7 2013, 03:15 PM) All telco implemented firewall to block P2P, so all torrent/emule etc speed = 56Kbps only MAX I think U Mobile does not.

QUOTE(PeeEl @ Mar 7 2013, 04:54 PM) Yes provided the telco you are with is providing LTE and your phone is LTE enabled. You also need them to activate LTE for your number. I speak only from my experience with Maxis. If you have a 3G SIM, you do not need to change your SIM. All you need to do is to tell them you want them to unlock LTE function, and they will do so. No extra charge. It is still a service that you seem to need to activate, but it's free.

I did a quick Google search.
Seems like there is a difference between a LTE compatible SIM and the standard 3G SIM.
From what I've figured, seems like Maxis has been using LTE compatible SIM for a while, even before their network was launched, hence my experience of not having required to change SIM.

QUOTE(benny888 @ Mar 7 2013, 05:24 PM) I will request to upgrade my maxis too. How long it took to be activated. I will be in KL tomorrow n if possible test out the LTE speed. The highest i got is 17000kbps on H Once the guy at Maxis was done fiddling on his computer console that Saturday morning, he told me 24-48 hours for it to be activated. But at the very moment he was telling me that, my phone's service changed from H+ to LTE. Even the guy who was talking to me was shocked! His facial expression was priceless.. LOL.. But he said usually 24 hours it'll be activated. Edit: This was done at the Maxis center at Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (TTDI), opposite of Domino's Pizza. Next to Pizza Hut.
