QUOTE(Areas Elysian @ Mar 5 2013, 11:32 PM) http://dhost.info/mhdtlab/havana.htm woot nice! http://www.tnt-audio.com/sorgenti/havana_dac_e.html This is what I am using, and it works perfectly fine with the Xperia Z. Headphones: Denon AH-D2000 Regarding sound quality from the phone, I hear no problems with it. Of course it does not match that of the Havana, but it's still decent enough. Treble is on the high side though, so will need to set the equalizer a little. My AKGs are in the car at the moment, I'll give that a try tomorrow. |

QUOTE(daijoubu @ Mar 6 2013, 10:28 AM) You guys are weird =.=. He has a point.... Ohh well.... the wait continues......Nobody mentioned that it will be sold from 6th/Mar. From the teaser, I'd expect the most is being able to play and touch with an official MY set. Everyone hyped each other up and now everyone is disappointed because of that |

Ok a bit off topic... what are the advantages and disadvantages of buying Ori vs. AP set? AP sets seems to have longer warranty, 24 months.

QUOTE(Bad.Bunny @ Mar 6 2013, 11:59 AM) i think disadvantage with their AP set is they would have to send back to SG for warranty / repair ... waiting / response time could be a killer I actually don't mind that.. have plenty of friends in SG, could bypass the seller... Anyways 2 years too so thats good i guess... Now just waiting for reply from directd.. should be 80% go ahead. |

Sorry guys been MIA playing with ma new Z..
anyways, I've got mine AP set from brother terry. Good and very fast service so I can't complain.. So far the Z has been good.. I have a lot to learn cause my first android.. Complain so far is that I have the LED issue (LED notification wont work with stamina).. I think thats fixable with a sony update. Another is the battery life. with screen off and stamina, it'll last long.. but as long screen on, it'll drain the batt.. well I haven't tried a full day though, and its brand new off the first charge. So i really hope it'll last long. I am sorry guys if I can't answer your questions. I'll try my best to answer if i can. Tomorrow i'll try the headphone output capability (audiophile test lol).. and probably battery life too.. |

haha tomorrow got new audiophile toy coming in..
haha i'm wondering should i reset or not (try to fix LED)... hhmm funny thing, i've got into a habit of WASHING MY PHONE. Like 3-4 times already.. it helps that after washing, its less fingerprint magnet. But downside is the speaker volume gets very weak.. lol! oh well.. |

Miracle
Oky initial impression, i've plug the xperia to my concerto to T1.. FULL VOLUME ON BOTH LOL... so xperia's output is pretty low lawl.. good thing is, walkmen app accepts flac m4a and wavs.. there definitely is sound.. but not sure if its music.. acceptable quality la i would say.. but there are APLENTY of digital settings with the walkmen app. Layman users will enjoy it. for me its too digital. pure is best.. more to come! |

So my battery ain't really lasting long (as long as screen is on)... but thats cause i was using it heavily. (installing/update, changing sys settings, fb chat/whatsapp, internet browsing simultaneously.) but its definitely much better than my lumia... and if the screen is off plus stamina, it will last FOREVER. lol so give and take.
Anyways, tomorrow i'll be going to spend the night at a beach! yay! thats where i'll test pictures and videos... hopefully enough battery to last the whole day lol. I'll be dunking it too, just be sure to wash it with fresh water after. Anyway's is there a way/app to ultilize volume button for camera/video and also lock the screen while doing so? |

QUOTE(Racerx @ Mar 8 2013, 12:40 PM) I haven't properly test it yet.. but the initial impression is sound quality (headphone jack) is acceptable or even sub-par to me... I have very high standards in sound though. so take it with a grain of salt.QUOTE(mcchin @ Mar 8 2013, 12:41 PM) they say dont expose to salt water to the xperia z Yes, the manual book shows indications that no dunking in ocean water or swimming pool. But my research says that its more like cause of the damage of the salt/chlorine residue left after the phone dries. It will damage the plastic and what not. So rinsing it with fresh water after should be okay. (according to online comments)it is a whole different thing compared to normal tap water |

Okay a quick update for them audiofolk. Here's my take of the Xperia Z (headphone out) performance.
Earphones : Unique Melody Miracle (6X BA Driver) Source : Comp > Concerto > Miracle Xperia Z > Miracle Tracks: All FLAC or WAV. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs, Deadmau5 - The Veldt, Starflyer 59 - My Light Thought i must say its only a brief while i've spend with the Xperia Z, and also the earphones. But I've spend some time on a familiar rig with the earphones to get an idea of how it sounds and what its capable of. The Xperia Z's sound is not bad I'm surprised. Won't say its great but its pretty acceptable. I think I'll still rate it on par with iPod 4G, Sony S-series (note I no longer own those, base on memory.) Comparing with my desktop rig below are some brief impressions. Xperia Z is obviously less detailed. There's also a cloud of fuzziness(congestion, less seperation) Smaller soundstage, and more importantly, its less musical. There's no meat within the music. That's why i said there's sound but no music. Both bass and treble end extensions are less than my rig. The sound sounds pretty balanced. You can't notice any artificially injected bumps across the entire frequency only with all settings off (read next paragraph). That's a good thing, cause after awhile, you'll grow to love the sound of it. Good to note though there's a ever so slightly bump in the upper mid/lower treble region. I interpret that as treble mastery not being good. It has a tendency to jumble up the anything in the upper mid/lower treble region But it is only noticable at some parts of certain songs. It sounds of some cheapo 80's cassette speaker. But only happens in some songs so its not a big worry. ALL SETTINGS IS CRAP. ClearAudio+ is the worst enhancement I have heard. Heck i think Beats is better at being worse. Anyways, it's good to note that as with all Sony devices, the EQ is good. People will enjoy the bass boast. Anyway's I have all settings off including EQ. Prefer that sound much more. The above impression is a result of me A/B the XZ with my rig. So the difference is quite noticable. But after a while, i've spent my time listening exclusively to the XZ. Which brings me to the following conclusion. I can live with the Xperia Z's sound. It has a thing that if you don't compare it against something else right away, It sounds good. This can no doubt be brain burn-in effect. But I can definitely see myself using the XZ and Miracle(lol) on bus rides, long road trips, chilling at the beach, listening in bed, and everything else. What I mean is this will be my permanent DAP and i'm totally okay with the sound quality. So there you go, if you compare, it might not be as good. But by itself, you can't really find no fault. To be fair i'm comparing it to a dedicated audiophile rig. So the performance can't be that bad! All in all, I'm happy with the sound. Was about to pull the trigger on a MP3 player with the same value of the XZ ! |

Huh? since when did speakers came in? lol...
btw, speaking of which, after the phone is wet, the speakers sound is very very soft. But after 1 hour or so it'll be back to normal. |

My Z's stamina function is broken. Turning it on or off no change to estimated standby time. I'm repairing it with Sony PC Companion, sigh..
