QUOTE(nexona88 @ Sep 16 2019, 06:18 PM) Don't know if u guys realized or not.. Should post comment say one click button can switch to Shariah EPF account via EPF portal instead of following Elmer Fudd on a wild 'Wabbit' hunt There's this one investment guru.. that I always see in FB ads... He says EPF is kinda "Haram" not following shariah rules... Example is Genting Plantation... He says yes EPF Don't invest in Genting but the initial $$ does come from it.. so whatever profit from Genting Plantation is considered "not clean"... So now promoting Pre-IPO shariah compliant investment.... And best part. There's many fall for it too... |

My cincai guess: 5.25 - 5.5%, maybe Syariah will shine brighter at 5.7% due to main trio bank tumbling share price and thus prevent anak sendiri ditirikan issue

QUOTE(ongonglai89 @ Feb 10 2020, 01:33 PM) lol... why everybody so anticipating on the dividend announcement? It is not like we can change anything before the announcement. To see a bump in our networth in Excel, and to confirm if Jan contribution is in And even after the announcement, we still will contribute to EPF |

QUOTE(bronkos @ Feb 22 2020, 12:53 PM) I'm bracing for 4 - 4.5% for non-bumi ASM fundsQUOTE(bronkos @ Feb 22 2020, 12:59 PM) For myself, I'm topping up 1% to make employee/employer portion the same. Doesn't hurt my present self much when done monthly but I believe it'll be something my future self will be thankful for. |

QUOTE(sky18 @ Feb 22 2020, 02:45 PM) I still can't relate why ppl wanted to mix financial with religion. Why bothered spend so much money and efforts on introducing and maintaining Islamic banking system while most of elements and fundamental are copied from conventional banking. Backend IT system still back in 0 and 1 logic. End of the day, all investors seek the same thing: for returns and to sleep well at night.Do we see any country in the world pushing hard for Christian or Buddish Banking? Or such thing really exist? If there are God exist as per respective religion, are these God really bothered much on MONEY matters that created by human. Well, that it as my self mumbling with no intentions to offend those believes in such system. (Off topic) I see it as opportunity for capital to flow into Malaysia. Malaysia holds a pretty big pie in global Islamic financing, especially sukuk. |

It seems you're better off doing the 4% as self contribution, if you employer drags your EPF contribution to the middle of following month (cutoff date)
E.g. Apr 2020 first month take effect Employer submits your share of 11%: - salary 25th of Apr - employer submits 11% mid of May - dividend for 1 day of May and full month subsequently Self contribute 4%, employer submits your share of 7%: - salary 25th of Apr - self contribute 4% before end of Apr - dividend for 1 day of Apr and full month subsequently - employer submits 7% mid of May - dividend for 1 day of May and full month subsequently Do correct me if I'm wrong |

I support model for:
- having medical allocation *less strain to subsidise medical, plus private insurance companies been enjoying for far too long - higher % for first x amount *Or have is same as minimum savings amount - higher % for people above certain age *I think should have cap though like 2mil This post has been edited by roarus: Oct 15 2020, 09:46 PM |

QUOTE(labtec @ Mar 28 2021, 04:15 PM) Did you check before dividend declaration date? Under "My Account", select year "2020", click "Search" and scroll down the page should see the "Print/Download Statement:" option for "Summary Statement" or "Detail Statement" |

I'm ok with tier, to a certain limit.
Like Singapore CPF has extra % for first 60k, their basic retirement sum is 90k-ish (reviewed yearly). Our EPF has set basic savings amount at 240k (2019), so extra % for first 160k to 200k seems fair enough. |

Just sharing a question I submitted to EPF on self contribution. Mainly I was curious whether I can rebalance EPF with my international portfolio after retirement age. Question: Can I still perform self contribution after retirement age of 60? Answer: We wish to inform you that Malaysian members below age 75 years may do Self-Contribution payment to top up own EPF account aside mandatory contribution. You may contribute for any amount at any time but not more than RM60,000.00 per year. TheEquatorian, wongmunkeong, and 1 other liked this post
