Not weird because minister hasn’t sign off 🤦‍♀️
Sure next week have to announce already otherwise something wrong
Won’t be after budget but next week 🤦‍♀️

There won’t be new taxes even for T20 but subsidies will be curtailed for certain income bracket for sure

Expect petrol subsidies to be wind down for certain brackets  👏 and no more handouts from EPF as they have headache now with the cash crunch from current account and liquidation of hard assets 🤦‍♀️ to fund such withdrawals

dont be too sure - remember this?

PETALING JAYA: Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) contributors have to brace themselves for a much lower dividend compared to what they received last year, which was 6.1% for conventional accounts and 5.65% for shariah savings.

According to a source familiar with the matter, the dividend for conventional savings is expected to be between 4.8% and 5.1% while for shariah  it could range from 4% to 4.5%.

What do you think he was trying to say?
*
I think he is saying retirees are not taking out their money in regular monthly intervals. Suka-suka take out any amount and any time they wish. They want to promote to them to take out on a regular basis. But why I dont know. Why bother what people do or how they do it.

I don't know. Did they publicly say that they were considering it before implementing EMAS account previously?
"The Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) is considering making regular or monthly withdrawals mandatory for contributors reaching the retirement age of 55."
*
yalah means they want to force you to take out on a montly basis. I dont think they are saying you cant take out in one lump sum. but why?
anyway, our news reporter listen and write only. They got no brains to ask questions and this is they type of reporting we get

For my case, I would prefer to leave my EPF money in there and withdraw only the interest. Not even all the interest, just part of it. I would prefer to withdraw only what I need and when I need it.

But frankly I am getting sick of all these uncertainties. Maybe I will just take out everything and earn a couple of percent less interest to avoid any future headaches.

All these time I had planned on taking out just the yearly dividends but now reading all these, I just might withdraw everything. I’ve no more trust in EPF even if they U-Turn on this one. Anyone else feels the same?

yes it is... it is kinda nice... I didn't visit the rooms only, but it is connected to the hospital directly and can walk over to the malls...

Nonetheless, 10K rm pm is kinda steep if one is still very healthy and "young" enough.

thank you.

EPF type of savings is good enough for me but there is one thing that worries me. Maybe some of you know the answer.
Lets say my wife is my nominated person to receive my EPF when I konk. What if "tai kat lai see" something happened to both of us at the same time, now the money passed to her family? Because technically I named her as my beneficiary, so the money goes to her. If she is also not around, then pass to her family members? not to my family members?

First time withdrawal...
Need to go EPF office... Give bank details & Verify thumbprint...

Money would be credit into your registered bank account in around 3 working days.... Make sure it's active & single name only (EPF member name)....

Second & afterwards withdrawal can be done online.... Since you already done the first withdrawal & verify thumbprint 🙏

Joint account cannot? How EPF know it’s joint account or individual?
