Do it... you will thank EPF every year when you realize that for every 50K rm you put into EPF, vs leaving it in FD, means you get a pick up of at least 3% pa.
50K rm x 3% pa = 1.5K rm... yes, that is 1500 rm.
That is a nice amount to have for a very nice dinner for the family. real nice dinner (no alcohol pls, as I do not believe in spending money on alcohol in a restaurant... lol).

Sound consideration for
a) anyone who is old enough; OR
b) close or above 1 million in EPF

AND

has cash left in FD earning some silly stepup high interest rate like 2.5%.
50K rm  ==>  1.5K rm extra to spend on nice dinner
100K rm ==>  3K    rm extra to spend on nice dinner and a affordable laptop for kids to play
500K rm ==>  15K  rm extra. Dinner and lodging at Pangkor laut resort for a few days and a nice laptop
...
10 mio rm ==> 300K rm extra. Donate to poorer people. Don't eat so much....
(always wondered what those 248 persons do with their dividends)

Good sharing on using epf if you are old enough or close to 1m in deposits.

Your 248 persons mentioned with above 10m in epf, is this only for active contributors only?

Here it comes...

First don't allow fully withdraw at age 55, then increase retirement age to 65.

Where does it say you cannot fully withdraw at 55?

What do you think he was trying to say?

My interpretation of what he is trying to say is well articulated here.

They want ppl to withdraw regularly instead of lumpsum.

Not sure why there is so mich fear mongering on epf. If scared take it out immediately

Look like EPF's proposal to make it mandatory for new members to withdraw their savings periodically instead of a lump sum upon reaching 55 years old will be a generational change. Existing members optional.

Generational change = 20 to 30 years time?

Poster claiming govt agreed monthly epf withdrawal is fake

This is from the kwsp’s own fb page.

So all the hoo hah and grumbling over last few days is just…. Noise…..

Very important is  not to withdraw. Many ppl will withdraw acc 2 for housing.

I hit RM1m in early 40s I think. Now at RM2.5m at 50.

Minimal voluntary contribution.

stupid question
let just say now u have 5M in EPF will u stop working or u will still give excuse like i still working to keep me occupied as i have too much free time or my work is my hobby?

my answer - i will quite for sure... but if i ever hit 5M maybe my answer will be different nobody knows

only answer this question if you are a worker and not a boss / business owner as my question is targeting to workers (actual epf contributors)

Not me but someone i know has >5m in epf, in their 40s and still working. Their justification is want to leave more for the children and they still enjoy the work.
