End of EPF financial year is Dec 15, right?

After a month of no crunching, they will release the 2015 dividend rate in Feb 2016.

I meant Dec 2015!

What I was conveying was, with KLCI at about 1700 on 31 Dec, then performance of EPF for the year 2015 should not be that bad. Unless they want to keep some for carry forward to next year.

Read in one of the webs that Msians are demanding higher dividend rate from EPF in view of the rising costs, etc. Right or wrong is up to you.

One thing came to mind while reading that. What if EPF gives higher rates depending on age? The younger ones will protest! Ha.

If someone can give me EPF Q4 2015 revenue, I will do a quick calc on the expected 2015 dividend rate.

With the 2015 EPF dividend BIG day only 3 weeks to go, I think most of us are anxious to know the % and hope that it will be high.

Let us see who can guess the correct %.

I will start with my 6.1 - 6.3%.

Please state yours with 0.2 range.

The expert economists' figures are much lower than my figures (5.3% at 95% confidence level, using my 2 digits calculator and primary school statistics).

4.5% is just statistically hard to get.

4.5% is also political suicide for Ah Jib considering the situation he is in now.

EPF's 2015 revenues and KLCI wise, 4.5% will be if EPF wants to keep a big chunk for next year coverage.

Hope more bros and sisters in this thread can give your guesses and I will give a simple summary of our expectation.

I think it is the 2nd Tue of Feb. But CNY will fall on that day. So either the Fri before or following Wed.

Just remember this ...

I think EPF will suspend access to accounts for their dividends calculations and updates. Cannot access to EPF account now.

I think it is a 1-2 weeks suspension.

So, announcement in 1st or 2nd week of Feb?

My gut feel is, if it is before CNY, then it is good news. If it is after CNY, then not so good news. Ha.

My mistake. It is not about accessing our account. Instead, they have stopped accessing our 2016 statement, saying it is for updating the dividend.

Different people have different mentality on EPF return. Some will take whatever it is giving, some will be happy if it is higher than FD, some will always want the HIGHEST whatever that is!

I am a bit of the last 2.

The trend is moving from 2X Feb to X Feb over the past 10 years. My original guess is on 9 Feb but 9 Feb is 2nd day of CNY.

So my guess now is either 5 Feb or 10 Feb.

And the % is ...........

KUALA LUMPUR: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) will declare a respectable rate on its dividends for 2015, says Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Investment) Mohamad Nasir Ab Latif.
The announcement will be made after Chinese New Year, he told reporters at a media briefing here today.
However, he was tight-lipped on the exact quantum.
The EPF declared a higher dividend of 6.75 per cent for 2014, compared to the 6.35 per cent announced for 2013.

after the 2 days CNY public holidays. But this did not happen.

Yes, I am eager to know the %. Not that I want to use it now. Will be good to know if the rate is reasonably high to lay a bigger retirement foundation fund.


P/S Just had a read on the Sun's article. MTUC thinks it will be on 20 Feb as MTUC will have a meeting with EPF on 19 Feb. I fail to see the logic flow on the dividend date. I think it will be announced on this Mon or Tues.

PP/S In fact, a little bird told me it will be announced tomorrow. BUT please don't @#$%^&* me if tak betul. Ha.
