if 5.45%...then it is true till now...historically it never did beat ASB  biggrin.gif

BUT the GAPs between ASB and EPF rates is closing fast.....

QUOTE(MUM @ Feb 19 2020, 08:36 AM)
yes,....how can it justify that performance.....Historically for XX yrs it never did

the conspiracy theory side of my mind...just my mind no evidence yah....
If EPF did beat ASB this time.....my conspiracy theory is....PNB is partially emptied too like TH
but in order not to spook the stock mkts....it just diam diam

hmm.gif unless epf is in the same status quo too devil.gif  innocent.gif

sweat.gif sweat.gif or just blame it or it is really due to EPF got more overseas investment.....

Call me super superstitious, feel that some hidden political fingers in there kept it just below ASB's 5.5%. And also with some help from hidden savings in the past years.

Can expect to see the EPF % and ASB % cross over in the coming years if the current govt stays.

epf self contribution is worth it if one is near to retirement or already over 55.

I can share that while 2019 is a decent year due to foreign investment and local bonds doing well, internally EPF is bracing for a worse year in 2020 and beyond. So be prepared for sub-5 next year onwards, if not next year then the years beyond that. That will be the 'new normal' for the coming decade.
