Lets hope the shariah pool will earn more than conventional pool.

Why would you think that..My fund is Shariah btw. Anyway, I think for both should be around 5.5 max.

I just use ASB dividend as comparison..though I know both instruments have different investment allocations/portfolio.

For investment pool of MY market more than 60% of 100%
30+% foreign investment

And looks at the world index as well as klci index.
Compare all indexes and the national debt mentioned.

You guys be grateful even it's 3%.

I know it's harsh but to we need to accept the reality and facts.

Only plays here are dividend stocks.

sorry OFF topic...

hmm.gif if that is for EPF dividend, then.... doh.gif sweat.gif there goes ASNB FP funds of the usual 6% ? as

".....PNB has 69% of its funds invested in equities and only 5% in fixed income. It is holding 20% in cash and money market instruments."(as mentioned in Sept 2017)

If ASNB did keep some % from the good harvest years for raining days...did EPF did the same too? hmm.gif

(btw,...The EPF, on the other hand, has 48.58% of its funds invested in fixed income and 42.33% in equities as at end-2016.)

Hmmm looks like my mistake then. So sorry for that.
I not really sure how much the holding now by EPF, as I don't have epf yet. But that is what I know last few years. Maybe that is outdated.

As far as I know, EPF doesn't have reserve thing like asnb had. But it's a policy that EPF must at least give 4.5% not matter what (not sure the policy still go on).

Thus, the good benchmark for 2018 will be 97 98 99 07 08 09.

But the KLCI isn't drop that much compare to 07 08 tho.

Asnb won't last too long too. But thank God based on record, KLCI doesn't drop double digits consecutive years. What make things worse is the blue chip hold by asnb and EPF......

Since EPF have achieved good return for the 1st 3 quarters, my guess it still able to deliver 5.0%-5.5% dividen for 2018.

Is the dividend calculation based on total amount of money put in for that particular year (regardless of from company worked for or self contribution) or is it based on total balance as of yr end?

The way EPF dividend calculated is based on daily rest. Means that, dividend is calculated based on daily balanced of each account 1 and 2.

Think most people would expect it around 5.5% TBH biggrin.gif

QUOTE
That means a 5% dividend should be possible, even if the fourth-quarter income is a lot smaller. The wild card, of course, is the impact of potential write-downs.

I hate write downs! Means bailout writeoffs! vmad.gif
