Even though can withdraw, many may not want to withdraw...
That is judging from postings in ASNB fp threads...
Many are still staying in n are happy for it beats fd rate.
What more more epf is now higher than that

QUOTE(Ankle @ Feb 6 2022, 12:32 PM) 2016 net income was 36,865m dividend credited to members acct 37,076m (5.7%) Perhaps they had been practising, net income in investment does not correspond to board decision to how much they need to "realise" the profits (in RM term) to pay out as dividend thus from there the rate to gives out will be determined (or vice versa)2017 net income was 47,990m dividend credited to members acct 48,130m (6.9%) 2018 net income was 46,892m dividend credited to members acct 47,312m (6.15%) 2019 net income was 47,218m dividend credited into members acct 45,817m (5.45%) 2020 net income was 52,583m dividend credited into members acct 47,642m (5.2%) Looking at the 5 year financial highlights, higher net income does not correspond to higher dividend credited into members acct for years 2019 and 2020 and for years 2016, 2017 and 2018 dividend income credited were higher than net income. I am not an accountant. Someone can explain why ? Dividend is from realised profits.... How much they want to realise is up to the board... Profit avaliable in paper in investment can be in 100 billion but they can decide to realise only 60billions to pay out.... This post has been edited by yklooi: Feb 6 2022, 12:42 PM |

QUOTE(magika @ Feb 22 2022, 03:11 PM) With SSPN declaring ultra low dividend, wonder whether EPF wil be influenced to do the same. If 10 million (openly announced) can generates 10% returns... That would be 1 millions. This 1millions when divided n distributed out as dividend... How much will it be shown in %?
FOR Just few posts back...says "Every 1% dividend will required earning 9.2b EARNING" 0.1% = 0.9 Billion 0.01% = 0.09 Billion 0.001% = 0.009 Billion 1 million = how many billion? π€π€ I am more concerned of those not displayed "leaked" numbers9 |

QUOTE(vorshre @ Feb 26 2022, 07:56 PM) whats the fuss about the tiered dividend? whatever amount in excess of RM1miilion is allowed to be withdrawn anytime, so please invest yourself elsewhere and get better return for yourself. instead of keep on harping on lousy govn policies yet you are still dependent on epf/govn dividend. With data of just 2 years ago, less than 0.5% of the contributors have >1 mil in epf? Also eventhough those can withdraw, they will still hv 1 mil in epf that are still dependent on epf/govn dividend...Just like the rest of the other 99.5% of the contributors All I can say is, Unknown of the variance in % of dividend between tier and the amount of $$ set between tiered system... Judgement cannot be made,... Even if made it would be useless. As it is not from the mouth of epf but from a writer that just want to sell her articles This post has been edited by yklooi: Feb 27 2022, 03:30 AM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(Ankle @ Feb 27 2022, 03:17 PM) Buy the stock when its at cheap valuation. After a few years of continuous dropping of price especially after each buy it keeps falling.... You no worry... That is good.... If you can still keep on buying..... Collect the stocks gradually dollar cost averaging over time. When you reach say 100 lots, just leave it to collect dividend. Very often this particular stock gives dividend in share form in lieu of cash. When the share price falls, do not worry. Given time it will recover. If and when the share price doubles, sell off 50 lots. What you then have is 50 lots in hand for free continuing to give you good dividends. Something like that. Btw, what hv you kept on buying continuously that are still falling in prices? I would curse myself if that happens,... Some forummers mentioned that they cabut already n moved to sp500 etf. Q1 + Q2 + Q3 = 48 billion
even if Q4 = 52 billions i think it does not matters....if they just want to "realise" only 48 billions to pay out as dividend. dividend is to be from "realised" profits... This post has been edited by yklooi: Mar 1 2022, 08:53 PM |

Not entirely easy to understand, based on new contribution or total assets below 100k? you are not wrong in wanting to start this query and thus discussion about that proposal...but, for me, just me,...i would rather spend my time doing "nothing" than reading those proposal and then going nuts about it.... wongmunkeong and Chrono-Trigger liked this post

QUOTE(MUM @ Mar 17 2022, 10:32 AM) End value can be mathematically computed Per Nov 2021 article..Current kwsp basic saving sum target is 240k.... In another 35 years it may also had risen Only 27 per cent of Employees Provident Fund (EPF) members, aged between 18 and 55, are estimated to have sufficient savings in account 1 based on its basic savings quantum, the Dewan Rakyat was told today. https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2021/11/...antum-threshold Thus if everything remained the same,... The % of members not able to met the basic sum target set 35 yrs later would roughly the same too?? ππ |
